The Magneto Test Bells were designed for locating grounds and open circuits in telephone and electric wiring. This particular unit has a 3-bar magneto generator with ringer and inside bells. Holtzer-Cabot Electric Company Brass name plate is intact. Along with the two(2) brass contact studs or posts. The number“50000” stamped on the Top of the Box. 50.000 stands for the resistance of this generator, in ohms. The old heavy test instrument is housed in a hardy Oak Cabinet fitted with brass corners. An early late 40s to 50s Automatic electric lineman rotary test phone. It is in good condition and probably still works. It features a rare dial. It is missing a small hex screw on one side. However it does not hinder it's integrity, and could be easily replaced. This was used by a lineman to test phone lines by climbing a telephone pole and tapping into the line. The casing has no chips and just a few minor scratches. There is one piece that is cracked off by the RJ11 connector on the back, causing the connector to'float' inside the back of the phone, but you can get a cord in there no problem. All of this is clearly visible in the pictures. This phone has been tested and works as expected, it dials out and rings on incoming calls just fine. The badge on the dial does not stay in place and there are a few scratches in the center of the dial from putting the badge back on. I sold many testers lately. Just thinning my collection. Cosmetic conditions are great as you can see in pictures(just a small area of chart plastic cover is indented"inside" but chart rolls smooth. No interference at all. Tester does power up. I tested 5Y3 and 12ax7 tubes and result was just as good as my calibrated Jackson 648S tester. However. I never got a chance(time) to go thru with any major check up. I don't know when was the last calibration performed or if there were any parts(caps) replaced/changed, so please assume calibration is needed if you plan on using this PACO as your primary or secondary tester and you may update caps if necessary.All ... moreof you guys out there know what to do when you get vintage piece of electronics. For above reasons. I am selling tester as is.
