I like this smaller size for my lawn mower because I can get a few lawn mowings out of it but it's not so big I have gas sitting around getting old. This is the"Canspout" metal accessory by Huffman Manufacturing Company of Dayton. OH, dating from the 1930's. It is engraved as"No. 71" as there apparently were various models of these from what I have researched. This accessory tool could be used with vintage oil cans, etc. to make pouring easier and neater. This tool looks to be complete, though I have seen some types that have a long nozzle spout attached. I don't see how this would have one attach, and it looks like it is meant to be used as it is made. This one has dates by the patent numbers as follows: 2099322-11-16-37" and"2105575 1.8.38" with the latter portions of the numbers being month/day/year, so this one dates from the 1930's or later before the model was discontinued, whenever that might have been. Bottle is brown and holds one quart and has a cork that is lifted by pulling up on the top ring(bail) This unit was used by the engineers on Williams Pipeline to sample product that was received from the Pipeline into a tank; they sampled all product they received from the pipeline. After circulating the tank for at least 30 minutes, they took a top sample, a middle sample and a sample 3 feet from the bottom. These samples were then tested in their lab before it was loaded into tank trucks or rail cars. Unit weighs 4 lbs and measures 13" high, 15" high with bail extended, by 4" diameter. 1100 gallon 316 type stainless steel tank
1100 gallon never used vertical 316 type stainless steel tank measures 50” in diameter X 10’1” high on the straight side with 10” deep dished heads. Tank was manufactured by Four Corp. Tank is supported with four 5” X 5” X 3/8” angle iron legs that elevated the bottom of the tank approximately 30” up from grade. Tank top fittings include one ½” One 1 ½” two 2” two 3” one 4” 150 lb. flanged fittings(van stone style) The center bottom outlet is a 4” 150 lb. flanged fitting. No data plate information is available at this time but an ultra-sonic thickness test showed a ¼” wall thickness and a 5/16” head thickness. A chemical test of the stainless showed that it’s 316 type stainless. 2 vintage Gasoline nozzles with boxes! BUCKEYE BRASS, POWEL 963. LOOK!
2 nice vintage nozzles. Purchased at auction. Not sure is the boxes were original to the respective nozzles but they were in them and definitely from the same period. Both nozzles pull. One kind of tight. Selling"as is" as found" The nozzles and boxes are dirty. I cleaned some of the black dust off but there's still some. Your hands will get dirty handling them until they are properly cleaned. Both nozzles are very heavy.
