1950's JUSTRITE LIGHT STICK 2105-4 METAL FLASHLIGHT LANTERN 4 CELL CHICAGO
This is a 1950's vintage Justrite Light-Stick model 2105-4 metal 4 cell flashlight. It was made by the Justrite Mfg. Co. Chicago 14, Ill. It is in used but nice coemetic condition and not working. The battery compartment is clean, but when I installed the 4 D size batteries the light did not come on. It is in either the bulb or the switch. It is all metal in construction with a metal belt clip and lanyard ring on the bottom. It measures about 9" long, 2 7/8" wide and 1 1/2" deep. The light bezel is 2 1/2" in diameter. Oval water door, a very strange tube on the right side of the burner and a small tube on the left side, that was built to carry the striker(which is not present on this lamp) This rare model has an interior screw lock, round hook and additional folding handles. Vintage/Antique Brass Justrite Miner’s Carbide Headlamp
You are bidding on one lot of one older miner’s headlamp by Justrite. Their patent number 11512. This is a well used item for show rather than use as it has a crack in the bottom fuel tank. The all brass design has small dings and dents, and has heat and smoke marks. The Justrite name is on the top with the on/off switch. The tank unscrews and it looks like there is some kind of scale in there. The mirrored reflector is intact but dirty. The flint wheel works fine and sparks. A hook for hanging on the back. RARE EARLY"JUSTRITE" HORIZONTAL BODY CARBIDE MINER'S LAMP PATENT PENDING ONLY- NO PATENT DATES YET This antique carbide lamp body is unique in the fact that it is very early in the development of the popular and successful brand of JUSTRITE carbide mining lamps. It only has Patent Pending stamped. So it was prior to the first issue of a patent number for Augie L. Hansen's development of the Wire Feed design, patent#1,084,145. This specimen looks to have the Wire Feed type of water distribution but it had not been granted patent until Jan. 13, 1914. This likely dates this lamp to 1913 or earlier. It is obviously only the water body and is sold"as is" I had thought to replace the reflector and carbide base, but thought I would leave that to the true collector, and high bidder. On second look. The logo that Justrite is so noted for, is not here. The most unique aspect of this lamp body, is that the logo that says JUSTRITE is not even represented in the definitive research book of the history of mine lighting by Henry Pohs, The Miners Flame Light Book. There are a variety of Justrite logos shown in Appendix 27 on page 770. I CANNOT FIND THIS VERSION OF THE JUSTRITE LOGO ANYWHERE! It is very angular. And looks a little"Flintstone Bedrock" style with the chiseled angles on the:J" U" S" and the"R" They obviously only used straight chisel tools in creating the die for this logo as there ... moreare no curves in any of the letters. This is very much in contrast to the"Streamlined" type which is full of curves an flourishes, and the other stock stamp letters used in MADE IN U.S.A. and PAT. PENDING. Please inspect this item carefully and educate me if you have any insight into this logo oddity. Please note that this specimen is a"Patent Pending" only, and due to the fact that it appears to have the Wire Feed water distribution design, this lamp must be earlier than the issue of that patent as this is patent pending only. For the age of this piece, it looks very good, with minor dings from use. The water door opens and closes smoothly, the water feed lever moves easily, and if desired, it would clean up nicely. Antique Justrite Carbide Lamp and Leather Miners Cap
Up for bid is an old Justrite Miners Lamp and an old Leather Miners Cap. My neighbor put carbide in the lamp and it worked for about 15 minutes until we put it out. A new gasket had to be added to the lamp to make it safe. The lamp has dents and tiny cuts. The leather cap is old and has the name Progress and Pat Pending on the front. I think they both would make pretty good wall hangers. I personally wouldn't use either as they are extremely old. I believe them to be from the very early 1900's. I honestly don't know what they are worth in their condition. I put a reasonable price on them to start. Check the pictures and bid accordingly. This is a old. I think made by Justrite, carbide miners“ Davy” lamp that was found in the Tiffany turquoise mine near Cerrillos. New Mexico in the early 1970s. Dinted but looks complete to me. I see no markings. I'd guess it dates to around 1910. Cerrillos was a important turquoise mining area in the early 1900s. In the 1880s, Cerrillos turquoise and other southwestern turquoise was promoted as the equivalent in quality to that of Persian turquoise. The acceptance of Cerrillos turquoise as a gemstone in 1889 raised its price to a level where its mining became profitable. The Tiffany Company of New York and its associates bought up much of the best quality turquoise from the Cerrillos mining area, some say as mush as $2,000,000 worth by 1910. Up for bid is a very old miners carbide container. It measures 7" high and 3" wide. It has a terrific patina from age. Glad it wasn't taken off by cleaning. It held calcium carbide for carbide lamps.

This is a collectible. Miners carbide cap lamp. Rare X-RAY. Older type pre-Justrite design. Marking stamped X-Ray on bottom. A miner has scratched his name on the bottom of the cabide chamber. It is not deep. There are other small dings from use. See pictures. Overall a very nice collectible lamp.

Justrite miners cap lamp cira 1914 Michigan U.P. spade mount no striker
This is a Justrite carbide cap lamp from 1914. It came from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This is the style of lamp the iron miners used. The lamps do not have strikers attached to the reflector. The miner would like them with a match. When you find a lamp that normally has a striker but does not it will also have the small spade to mount it to the miners hat. I was excited when I found this lamp years ago but it is time to let it find a new home. Please look at all the pictures and ask question before you bid because the are NO Returns. Lots of rust. Marker writing all over. Much of the original red paint remains at the side walls. Some flaking. Logo/text is all legible and looks like it would clean up quite a bit. Vintage Skullguard Mining Helmet with a Justrite Carbide Lamp. This helmet was used mining iron on Minnesota's Mesaba Iron Range. The helmet is in good condition. The suspension has cracks and a broken cord as you can see from the back side picture. The leather carbide holder is cracked through on one side. The Justrite carbide lamp with a patent date of May 7, 1912 was dug. I great example of early underground mining in Minnesota.

This is a nice antique miner lamp that is in great shape. This miner lamp measures approx 4" tall at the filler cap and 4 1/4" tall to the top of the reflector. The reflector is 4" in diameter. The brass lamp is in great shape. With only a couple very tiny dents on the side from years of use. There is some wear to the finish from use. There is carbide dust in the bottom part, and we will leave it for the high bidder to decide what they want to do with it. The top and bottom screw together good. The top is stamped with"Made in USA" Pat Pending" Streamlined JUSTRITE" and"ON" on the left side of the filler cap. The piece on top in the ... morecenter looks like it has been repaired at some point in time. Please see pictures 7. 8& 9. The hook in the back looks like it might be slighly bent. But not sure if it was made like this or not(see picture 3) The filler cap on the top doesn't close real good and has a tiny dent in the top which can be seen in picture 7. If you push it hard it catches a little and is tight. The reflector is in good shape but does have a little wear and some light pitting on the edge about 1 1/2" long(tried to get it in the last pic) The finish is worn off a tiny bit on the back. I think the reflector might be slightly out of shape from use. The wheel on the reflector turns nicely. This reflector is not magnetic. The bottom is stamped"United States of America" This would make an excellent addition to a lamp collection. We also have another very similar miners lamp ending 5 minutes before this one.
