But I acquired this at a avid collector's estate sale in Indiana(which included pieces that went for $2,000+) Gas city pottery was a manufacturer of stoneware in Indiana from the late 1800's into the early part of the 20th century. Vintage Chilton P20 Vented Vintage Gas 2 Gallon Can/Jug gasoline fuel spout vent
This is a REALLY NICE gas can. It comes complete with the vent which is still on its tether. Its cap, as well as its spout and the screen is fully intact. It looks virtually like new and is clean as a whistle inside and out. The only other than terrific thing I noticed is the tether on the spout cap in photo 4 has some stress marks near where it attaches to the spout. This is Vintage Oil or Water Can with a cloth cover that has been torn and does have some stains in cloth. I think it could be stitched/sewn back together. However I do not sew so I cannot guarantee that. The covering seems to be a wool. The metal Jug is in great condition it has the original cap and only has a small dent where the cap has been pushed down. Somebody with strong hands could probably pull it back up.
