This bulletin is illustrated with several drawings and looks like something that was mimeographed at the Phillips 66 company's office in Kansas City with information on sales programs, incentives, tips for good customer service and more. This is a very hard to find and near perfect original owner's manual for a Fairbanks Morse Y oil engine. It is for the 10hp engine but is probably the same for the larger sizes as well. It measures about 6 x 9 inches with 56 pages and is in near perfect condition. It has some very minor soiling and wear but is as close to mint as you could hope to find. It covers all aspects of the engine including erecting. Plumbing, cooling, starting, running, oiling, and also has a nice parts breakdown. It shows the original starting torch and friction clutch pulley along with other accessories. It would be a fine addition to your paper collection especially if you have one of these engines! Original TEXACO Oil Co. "Wayne Model 420" Electric Gas Pump
Up for auction is an original"WAYNE Model 420" Electric Gas Pump that has been made into a TEXACO OIL COMPANY gas pump. Please notice that this pump has no decal on it; when I took these pictures we inadvertently stuck a Mobil globe on top. Since these pictures were taken. Mr. Boyd has obtained some Texaco decals and has placed a Texaco globe on top. I would take some more pictures. And will do so in the future, if the pump doesn't sell in a few weeks, but I(Jeff Flowers) who list these oil company items for Mr. Boyd live a little over two hours from him and only get out there every few months to make pictures of what he has completed since I was last there. This pump is unique in the recessed fluorescent lighting on each side. This pump comes with the original nozzle and hose. The metal and skins are in fair condition; it has ... moresome dents and the chrome window trim is begging to spot. The globe on top is a reproduction and has been made to light up. This pump stands just a little over five foot tall in overall height with the globe on top. This pump belongs to Mr. Kenneth Boyd of Roosevelt. Oklahoma. And he is the one who found it. Mr. Boyd is 84 years old and has lived all of his life on the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. He has been restoring petroleum products for several years now, having restored over 200 gravity-flow and electric gas pumps to date(among other restoration projects) Mr. Boyd would be happy to answer any questions you have about this particular pump. RARE Antique 1920s Copper Letterpress Print Block GRUMPY OLD MAN Texaco Gas Oil
I recently acquired a private and personal COLLECTION of COPPER ANTIQUE LETTERPRESS PRINT BLOCKS that I will be listing over the next few weeks. I have done some research on them and found that they are all related to an Ad campaign by INDIAN GASOLINE& OIL. TEXACO or HAVOLINE OIL. These Letterpress Blocks are done by highly skilled artisans/ Engravers and each represents a different scene and story line for the Ad. All were produced by"Syndicate Advertising Co. of New York who were the chief Ad Agency for Indian Gasoline& Oil in those days. Indian Gas& Oil's office at that time was also in Manhattan just a few blocks away. The Blocks were shipped in a small. Addressed envelope and accompanied by a 3 Cent Stamp for Postage. The Individual who all the Blocks were sent to was named HENRY S. BIR of LA GRANGE. INDIANA. I have ... morelearned in my research that Mr. Bir was a prominent business man back in the day. He owned a number of businesses including his"BIR GAS& SERVICE STATION" as well as the"BIR GARAGE HOTEL" In addition. Mr. Bir was head of the INDIANA BUSINESS EXCHANGE(a Civic Club for Businessmen) and was even active in the organization on a National Level. There are about 50 different Blocks in the collection. Each has a different scene and would have delivered a different Ad message. Originally. When mailed, the Block was accompanied by a small Paper/ Ad slick which shows a print copy of the Letterpress in the mailer and an accompanying storyline and Ad featuring the Letterpress. Not all Printblocks are accompanied by the Ad or the Envelope or both. In the case where an Ad is not present, I have provided photos of an enlarged Xerox copy(2 actually- a dark and a light contrast) for you to see the image. All the Ads are colorful but some are particularly fascinating and quite politically incorrect in todays terms.
