oil field drilling bit cone
Part of a Oil and Gas drilling bit. this is one of the three cones on a drilling bit. I was working on the rig in the 80's and got it after it almost fell off the bit in the hole. there are many kinds of bits this one is for softer soil and was ran into hard rock and needed changing. when the bit came up from hundreds of feet down this was hanging on the main bit and fell off in my hand so I kept it for a souvenir. makes a great door stop. its a heavy. paper weight
