The"O" in Mobil is missing. I don't understand this as I see no trace that it was ever there. Could this be a factory error? There is a dent in the side as I have shown in the photo and some minor rust on the bottom as you can see in the photo. Both original caps are present. The can is dirty and grimy but I didn't attempt to clean it as there a places where the paint is peeling especially around the bottom rim and I didn't want to cause any more paint loss. SHIPPING. Tonight's Auction is for a Vintage Early Mid-Century Metal Gas Can(Circa 1930's- 40's) It's a 2 gallon size with almost no dents and no rust and no holes. Really good condition. It has wire bail on the top with a wood handle which is also in great condition for carrying the can. It's missing the small metal cap on the pour spout, but no big deal. It measures about 10 1\2 inches high, not including the carrying handle which lays flat and then up for carrying, and the can is about 8 inches wide. It also has a screw off lid in center of top for filling gas, works fine. I found this can way under a low shelf hidden by other newer cans, where no one else had looked. Vintage "SAFE-T-WAY" 5 Gallon Safety Gas Can by Cooper Industries Inc./No. 1383
This 5 gallon vintage"Safe-T-Way" safety can made by Cooper Industries Inc. has a minimal amount of rust and some paint scratches. One side of the can has a few dents(see photos) but they do not affect the functionality of the can. There are no holes and the can is clean on the inside. It has not been used in many, many years. The flexible nozzle is in great shape and so is the screen in the end of it. The fill-opening has a removable. Drop-in screen that has had a minor repair job. I believe this can is from the late 1940's or early 1950's. All in all it's a great can. I have described this to the best of my abilities so if I missed something please forgive.
