It doesn't have any leaks. It had gas in it when I purchased it so it will still smell like gas when you get it if you open the lid. I have emptied the gas can but it will take forever& a day to get out the gas smell just airing it out. I haven't cleaned it just emptied the gas because I don't want to mess up the paint. A Wedco Essence 2.5 gallon gas can in very good condition with the following: The original plastic bleeder valve cracked as they usually do. I replaced it with a brass fitting which seems to work fine and won't ever break again. The spout is short and has a rubber cork as shown. There are very fine paint specks which can only be seen inches from the can. It looks like a neighbor was spray painting and the wind blew flecks toward the can. For auction is my Castrol gas or petrol 2 gallon gas can. Its in good condition for its age with no dents to speak of. It's very straight. The can does have some very light surface rust but is still mostly covered with original green paint. Castrol didn't use a labeled cap only a plain brass cap. On the front and back it has impressed"Castrol" in a circle and nothing on the ends or top. This can is probably from the 50's after they dropped the Wakefield from there name. Vintage 2.5 or larger Galvanized Metal Gas Can/ Fuel Container This fuel container is the old style that has been rinsed inside and out. It's at least 2.5 gallon. And maybe a 3 gallon as it seems taller than others I've had in the past. There are two dents near the vent, and two dents 2 or 3 in an area near the top/upper side(see photos) but the can is nice and clean. It has a self-venting spout, and it has its nozzle and nozzle cap. The screen has been removed from the inside of the nozzle(see photos) The paint is flaking off. This Eagle Gas can is in good vintage condition but does have a weathered and used appearance. The can features a sturdy carrying handle and comes with the spout and vent. The can appears very clean on the inside. The spout is stiff. I seem to remember spouts being on the flimsy side so I'm unsure if the stiffness is caused by age or design on this model. WOW!!! RARE VINTAGE EAGLE 2 1/2 2.5 GALLON GALVANIZED METAL GAS OIL MEASURE CAN
Here is a very rare early Eagle gas can with heavy duty 26 gauge steel. And a graduated oil measure device that stows inside under the large(vent) cap. I've never seen one like it. When I got the can from an auction in Wisconsin, it has some oil riding inside the gauge. Apparently it stays in there and doesn't mix until you pour in your desired amount into the can when you add fuel to the can. Pretty neat. There is a few small dents as can be seen in the small cap. But there are no dents and no rust inside or out on this can. The outside of the oil measure gauge has some rust spots I cleaned off with a scotchbrite pad. The inside and outside of this can has been cleaned with clear water and it's remarkable well preserved. There is no flexible spout or filter with this can. What you see in the photos is what there is.

This is a galvanized metal 2 1/2 gallon gasoline can by Sears that has NO RUST at all-inside or out. It has two dents; one super small near where the spout screws on. And one larger one around the vent area. This can has been cleaned up, it doesn't leak, and is ready to serve you for decades. It has a plastic spout that still retains its screen, and vent with its vent cover. There is no cap for the spout as seen in the photos. Please contact me if you need more information.
