I am not sure so assume that they are reproductions as nearly everything is sadly being reproduced now. I raised a child of color and most. If not all of these cards, are offensive to people of color and I hope all people actually. I have mixed feelings about selling these kinds of normal sized post cards but as historical records of racism in this country, the more people who see these the better. Nice Victorian trade card, John Wanamaker Boy's Clothing, Philadelphia
Hello. And thanks for looking. Please excuse any not-so-great pics; still getting the hang of it. This is a very nice original circa 1868 Victorian trade card advertising John Wanamaker& Co Boy's Clothing. Which was located at 822 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia. It measures about 4 1/2" by 3" and pictures a rather ferocious-looking dog holding a sign for the store in his mouth. It was made to look tattered via printing for some reason; the visible"tears" in the photo are all trompe l'oeil. It's in overall nice shape with light corner ear.
