History: Bought this camera back in 2009 from B&H. I was taking college photography classes and wanted to purchase a camera. I picked the d200 because it had a lot of megapixels and great fps. This camera did a very well job for how old it was(released in 2005) Bought it brand new from B&H online retailer. Purchased the 3 year extended warranty and never used it. I have only taken the lens off the body 6 times and always pointed down when doing so. Never ever dropped it because its always around my neck or on a tripod with a weight. I've kept this well out of any danger. I put ZAGG invisible shield on both LCD screens and kept the LCD protector on at all times. The only visible wear is done on the bottom where the tripod screws in and the red rubber mark underneath the shutter button(pictures shown) Sadly I've changed majors ... moreand i rarely take any photos with it. THIS ITEM. AS WITH MOST OF MY ITEMS, CAN BE SEEN IN MY NEW ANTIQUE STORE, 20 MECHANIC STREET CAMDEN MAINE. I AM OPEN TO OFFERS ON THIS ITEM. THIS LOOKS TO BE A EARLY BINNACLE WITH A LATER COMPASS. You are bidding on ONE ORIGINAL(NOT A REPRODUCTION) wooden/bronze binnacle with a later compass. My research leads me to believe the binnacle is English and from the mid to late 1800s. It is a very rare design being pyramid shape. Mine is NOT marked with a makers mark. I have seen a very similar one which was described as"Royal Navy Binnacle Boat Compass. Dent& Co. England" MINE DOES NOT HAVE THOSE MARKINGS AND I AM NOT SELLING THIS ITEM AS SUCH. HOWEVER. Dimensions are the same. HOWEVER, the compass looks to be later probably early to mid 1900s and is a wet compass. THIS BINNACLE DOES NOT HAVE THE BURNER USED FOR LIGHTING. What you ... moresee is what you get. There is a knob on the front which locks the top(bronze) closed. It is opened in some of the pictures. The front glass panel opens as seen.There is a locking mechanism which locks the gimbals function(see pic 10) Locks it so compass will not gimbal such as in storage or at anchor. You can see the details in the pictures. Brass/bronze bezel on compass is 6-1/8" across. Card is 4-1/4" across. Card has Fleur de les for North and has numeric degrees. Card can be easily seen in the pictures. Glass is clear. There is some dust/paint chips which show in pictures. I should have dusted them off before I took the pictures. Inside of lid has been painted white as seen in pics. Compass bezel has one marking on it which is"No. 106" I do not know what that means. Looks to be teak base. Very heavy item being at least 20 pounds. Will be shipped UPS Ground. Compass seem to work just fine and is accurate but has not been adjusted. Overall it is in excellent used antique condition. In the closed position the case measures 4 15/16" x 3 1/4" x 3/8" thick and weighs 4.7 troy ounces. It is more than large enough for credit or business cards.
