This is a vintage Kodak Model A safe light with a slip-in mounting plate. You can mount the bracket on the wall. Then slip in the base plate, allowing directional adjustment by rotating the lamp in the bracket. It has an OC filter for black and white enlarging papers, and uses a standard-base 15 watt bulb, which is included. I used this in my own darkroom and found it to be an excellent light that provided sufficient illumination. And did not fog the paper. It has a 2-prong plug and an on/off switch in a 6' cord. Antique Primitive Punched Tin Match Safe, Holder, Hanging Wall Box 19th Century
Here's a cute. Little, antique match safe up for bids without reserve. Primitive and completely made of tin, it once hung on the wall of a kitchen and held wooden matches to light a stove or kindling in a fireplace. It dates to the 19th Century and was likely made by a tinsmith. This matach box has folded edges in the back and on the cover along with soldered corners in the front. There's a crude hinge made of a 5-sided piece of tin soldered to the back piece and to the bottom of the interior that fits through a slot in the middle of the cover. Fitting perfectly, the cover has a series of closely punched holes, possibly for striking the matches on. This piece is completely original and just as it was found. It has very minor surface rust that adds to its charm and character. This match holder measures 3 7/8 inches long, 3 1/4 inches ... morehigh, and 2 1/4 inches wide. From the subject matter of said logo, it would appear that"Norton Pro" was a body shop and/or auto detailing and/or car wash establishment. Looks to be from the 1960's or 70's. Both of the aforementioned are my guesses/opinions only. I was unable to find any concrete information on the company. I see no other maker's mark(s) on the lock box/cabinet itself. It is made of sheet metal(steel) rivotted joints, painted white at exterior. This is for a neat old match holder with the back being a oak leaf and the match holder part being a acorn. It is made of silver colored metal/tin or could possibly be made of aluminum(quite light weight) as that is what it looks like from the back and I have seen them not painted on the front. Being all silver. But, I believe the front has been painted by someone in a dark bronze color with black highlights around edges and specks to the acorn for a realistic look I guess, looks good to me anyway. It has a little expected wear tot the paint but nothing I would call major or that couldn’t be touched up. It has a hole near the top for hanging. Antique 1864 Cast Iron Civil War Era Wall Match Safe SELF CLOSING Lid D.M.&Co
Here is a fantastic antique cast iron match safe. The lid is marked SELF CLOSING FOR MATCHES& C. PATENTED. DEC.20.1864. D.M.Co. NEW HAVEN. D.M. Co stand for the Davenport Mallory& Co. of New Haven. Connecticut. It has an ornate back with two holes from mounting on the wall. The bottom is textured for striking the matches. The top of lid has a protruding spike which forces the lid to close and not stay opened. It measures about 4" wide by 2 1/2" from front to back. It was probably also used from rolled cigarettes. Much of the black paint is worn off. It comes with the matches that are shown in the box as this is how I got it. Priority shipping and handling includes delivery confirmation in the USA. Found it looking through family estate. Unfortunately I know nothing about it. Wall Mounting Match Safe Made from Wood and Brass Tacks. Does fit the Large size match box. Has a strike opening on right side which shows use. The homestead and happy couple clearly appear to be hand painted. No makers mark or signiture. You are bidding on an Antique Vintage Decorated Safety Deposit Box Wall Safe- No Key or Drawers in the safe. It measures about 10 1/4" front to back and stands about 6" tall. It is about 4 7/8" across the back. It is in used condition and is missing the key and any inside drawers. There is minor surface rust all over the piece. It had a very decorative design on the front at one time. It weighs over 7 pounds before any packaging. It is"as found" condition. I do not know what building it may have come from or how old it is. I have sold a couple of these before and it is a nice piece of history. This would be a great addition to anyone's collection.
