X-motion linear stage with motor and encoder This X-axis linear stage was removed from a working piece of optical inspection equipment. It includes a motor coupled to the driveshaft with a flexible coupling. It also has an encoder mounted on the motor shaft. The condition of the linear stage is quite good. The stage manually moves smoothly along its entire range of travel. All brackets and the baseplate are machined of aluminum. The linear rail is steel. I have not taken it apart to see what time of bearing mechanism is included. But the quality is readily apparent.
