This was originally made to move a very large satellite dish. It's rated to push or pull 1/2 a ton with steel plate for mounting. I have used it as an electric steering box for a radio controlled lawnmower with a battery and an inverter. It runs on AC 110v. Really easy to hook up. There's a common wire that would go to one leg of the 110v. Then you hook one of two other wires up to make it push or pull. It has a relay and some switches inside but I have only used it as described above so I don't really know what the switches are for. I think they are a safety so it will only extend or pull so far. One end of the steel rod has a bolt hole so you cab thread in an eye hook or bolt. The long steel part is just over 3ft long. It has MASSIVE POWER and built very tough. Up for auction is a electric linear actuator made by Duff-Norton. It was operating properly when removed from service. It was replaced due to one of the gear case bolt heads broke off. It might just be that the screws backed out like the new one that repaced it did after two months of service. For all specifications see the mcmaster carr website. It is mcmaster number 6530K44 which is 1.400 something new. It is complete except for two of eight screws that fasten the two covers on and a capacitor that was stole out of this one.
