You are bidding on one(1) THK Ball and lead screw. Shows as model THK KX 2C26. I removed this from an injection molding machine. Great shape EXCEPT for some pitting see below for more. Just about all the discoloration is grease. Some dinge on the ends and places that dont matter but pretty good and very useable by someone needing a stout short travel setup. Price is worth it for the ball alone. Shaft diameter is estimated to be 1.875" I damaged my calipers and didnt have another on hand and wish I could be more accurate. 1.375" straight shaft with keyway for coupling. Concerning the pitting: In the first picture the pitting begins at about 18" this was where the stroke was used to lock a portion of the molding machine into place. The remainder of the screw is excellent. All things considered. The pitted section is reasonable ... moreand could be used for over-travel with no problems. See pictures for more details. PSM 20mm Ballscrew 5mm Lead with end bearings ball screw
This is a very nice ballscrew that I originally bought to use on a CNC machine I built. However it didn’t fit in the space so I just kept it thinking I would use it in another build– which never happened. So it is time to sell. It has been stored in my house wrapped in plastic to keep the dust out. I am not familiar with the manufacturer– it has PSM written on the nut. It looks to be very well made. And it has the appearance of being ground(not rolled) although without specs I can’t be sure. The nut runs up and down the screw very smoothly. It has external ball return tubes, which would make replacing balls relatively simple. I haven’t tested backlash, but if it does exist then replacing the balls to eliminate this will be simplified with the external tubes. They were removed from service because they didn't hold the extremely precise tolerances required for such applications. therefore the electronics are not guaranteed functional. In fact the motor and encoder should be assumed to be non-functioning. I don't know how to drive the motor or interface with serial encoder so they are untested. 10 rotations of the shaft got me exactly 5" of travel and its a 7 start lead screw with a diameter of 1/2" That should be enough data to derive most of the critical dimensions but if you need additional info please don't ... morehesitate to ask. Thread depth looks to be approximately 1/32" but this is an approximation. Motion is smooth with no discernible"lash" or inconsistencies throughout the 28" range of motion. 31.5" effective screw length less 3.5" stage width.
