Here is a good vintage lab stand with clamp and ring. It stands about 18" tall and the base is 6" by 11" The base is heavy duty and made of die cast metal- 2 1/2 pounds. The ring is 4" across and made of cast iron. More paint chips on the base than the one in this photo. Some corrosion on the clamp but all screws function. Lots of uses. Great value. This is a vintage Wilton tool. Made by a company famous for its quality industrial vises, the Wilton No 344 clamping device, with universal positioning ball joint which can be clamped securely in any position. The base is 4" long, and the basic tool is about 4 1/2" high. There is a clamping handle which sticks out to the side, and a socket in a ball joint which takes any 1/2" round rod in the hole. There is an allen set screw to hold the rod in place. When the handle is turned to the left the joint is loosened and the socket can be put in any position. When the handle is turned to the right it is locked firmly. Any length rod can be used, and other rods can be attached to the main rod. This tool could be used in chemical laboratories to hold flasks or other devices in position, or in other workbench applications. Up for sale is a gorgeous lot of four Fisher brand lab devices. One is a bosshead/clamp holder. One is a thermometer holder, one is a condenser/burret clamp, and one is an adjustable rod connector. All are either stainless steel or nickel plated because they show no signs of corrosion. You could get creative with this lot by using the adjustable rod connector to position a smaller piece of rod with any of the other devices attached.
