Up for auction is a VICTORIAN LACHRYMATORY-TEAR CATCHER-ATTAR-LAVENDER OXFORD PERFUME VIAL in a RARE/HTF AMBER color that dates to the mid 1800's. Most of these inexpensively made bottles were made of crystal colored glass with gilded accents. Any of these vials in colored glass are more desirable to collectors. The bottle measures 5 7/8" long and 5/8" at the widest span. It has gilded X accents. Glass beads. green enamel leaves, large white enamel cloud like motifs and tiny blue enamel dots. The more plainly decorated outer sides show ... morevery little of what once was a gilded decoration. Pics 4& 6 show 2 glass beads that are larger in size than the other glass beads on the vial. The beads appear to be original to the vial with the original gilding across the top. There is a 1/4" long by less than 1/8" wide flake on the outer edge outside the lip of the vial. It is covered with most of the ORIGINAL GILDING. There is a 1/8" long x 1/16" shallow scuff/flake on the top lip of the bottle that has NO measurable depth. The vial has no cracks.
