This listing is for an authentic vintage antique collector's sample of corn planter check row wire. This sample features a cast iron trip on a 1/4" diameter rope. Trip is a cast iron ball. With groove at center, and each side has an opening. Rope is inserted through one opening wrapped around center, and out the other opening. Openings are then pressed closed. This trip is called the"Cast Iron Split Ball on 1/4" Rope" by collectors. Trip measures 5/8" in length, and 3/4" in diameter. Rope sample is a minimum of 18" in length, and trip is well centered. Rope and trip show light age and exposure wear, with very light pitting. It appears it must have been oiled and attracted dust as it is a bit caked. Ends of rope may show some light unraveling. It has a 5 Ton capacity and an electric motor by Dayton. The cable is 3/8" diameter although it was never stretched out to see what kind of length it has. This winch has been tested and runs good. The motor is a Dayton 1 HP motor with 1725 RPM. The model is 6K674F. It works on a standard 110 V Plug. The Drum is 8" wide and approximately 3 1/2" Deep but its hard to tell without having to spool all of the cable off the drum. It has a forward and reverse lever and brake on it.
