I have my Lucas swing crane now for sale. I have used this for the last 3 years to off load bags of firewood. It is quite old but 2 years ago I had the motor rewired and also the hand control I got from Panny Hydraulics just over a year ago. All works fine. It comes with the welded stand you can see in the pictures- this is handy to bolt onto you truck or trailer and gives a bit more height. Max lift on there says 545kg- the arm does retract down to give you a slightly larger weight lift- ie with the arm out as in the pictures the weight you can lift is slightly less. Midwest 5 Ton Dump Hoist Trailer Truck Wagon Scissor Hoist
This is for the Midwest 5 ton dump hoist pictured. I have added 12 pictures total which will show the measurements. Initially the cylinder on this was stuck but I was able to free it up but putting hydraulic fluid into the front side of a cylinder and prying it open. It now moves smoothly. Freely, and has a nice tight feel to it. I have not tested it with hydraulic fluid but with the plug in it it does hold air pressure. The 5th picture shows some deep scratches and gauges from prying it open but this should not affect the overall performance. This was originally a wagon hoist but I feel it could be converted on to other things. Due to the overall weight and size and also to avoid shipping this freight it will be disassembled and shipped in 2 separate packages. I have dealt with a few of these and the shipping charges are usually very close ... moreto the actual cost but if it does go over I will cover the excess expense. I also welcome local pickup on this item. My knowledge is limited on this but I know how it works and what it's supposed to do so feel free to ask questions but be prepared to explain what you're looking for. Vintage Sasgen Derrick Co. Winch Crane. Industrial Age Tow Truck Hoist This listing is for the winch only and does NOT include the custom base. This is an old Sasgen Derrick winch crane. Looks like they were used for a wide variety things from tow trucks to logging. I just used an old towel with a little WD-40 and got most of the dirt off of it because I wanted to check it out better. Looks like it is in very nice condition and turns freely and the gears look fine and the anti reversing cog works fine and the break pads seem to work. I was not able to find any kind of damage or cracks or repairs. I have only found a few others to compare it to and this one has a quick release handle that locks itself onto the shaft with a spring release that looks original and not sure how many of those are still around. The other ones that I had found on ... moreline had a handle that needed to be held in place with bolts. With the option of four different handle locations this quick release must have been a real time saver. It does have a bunch of cable that I think is 1/4” and it also has a heavy duty hook. If you do not need the cable I can unspool it and save you a little on the shipping cost. It is very heavy and because of the cast iron being brittle. I will custom build a wood shipping crate for it. It measures about 18” by 17” and about 14” tall. Please ask any questions before you bid because it is sold as found and as shown and as is. It is obviously old and shows signs of normal use and wear. If you have any questions please just ask before you bid. This listing is for the winch ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CUSTOM BASE. 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck with wheelchair hoist mounted.
I modified this truck to haul a disabled friend and her 300-pound wheelchair. The hoist. As manufactured, is rated for 300-pounds though I beefed it and the truck frame up. There is no sense in taking risks when your friend must travel safely and meet a schedule. The winch is rated for 2,000 pounds and I de-rated the circuit breaker from 90 amperes down to 20 just to make sure it remains safe. You will pivot the hoist by hand. Honestly. All this takes some skill and I want to see a person with a keen eye for safety operating this or any of the other hoist systems available. You should be a safe worker. I chose to use the hoist rather than a ramp because Missoula and Hamilton are icy places in winter and a ramp can quickly become dangerous. A ramp on a van would have meant banging my head many times. Trailers and bumper-mounted lifts have ... morea poor record. I made a spreader and two kinds of spreaders for Jazzy and Invacare wheelchairs come with it. Because the Ranger is a pickup without a trailer. Vision is excellent. You will appreciate this if you have arthritis. Backing up is as good as it gets. This rig is not appropriate for a crippled person to work alone. In fact. The wheelchair person really should have a friend along for any trip. It works well and I took my friend to Seattle and back for a kidney transplant. Convenient! It's a good road-rig and we've done a lot of traveling. I've clocked from 25 to 31-mpg. Standard transmission. Five-speeds. There is no air conditioning. I bought it that way because I figured it would cost less and do more. That turned out to be true. I use Valvoline in the crankcase and have oil changed at the recommended intervals. 155,000 miles on it now. It is a little truck. Bigger than an S-10 and smaller than a standard pickup. Size is one of the many reasons I like it so much. Height of the passenger seat may be critical for your crippled friend. This truck is easy to enter and easy to exit. Nice interior.
