Antique Single Sheave Naval Block Pulley from Tall Ship
As shown. This was obtained from a former shipyard on the southeast coast of Newfoundland. It is a very old single sheave naval pulley. Complete with hook and connection eye. Several older fishermen here informed me that this is the type used on the old 3. 4 masted schooners and tall ships that sailed here around the turn of the century. I have no way to validate this but have seen several identical types on pictures of the old ships. Since it is a single sheave. I understand that they were used to hoist winches, cargo) and spars. 8" Single Sheave Snatch Block Pulley Wire Rope Swivel Hook w/quick release
This is an old pulley that I used to pull wires with a rope. I have had it since Moby Dick was a minnow. I don't plan on ever using it again. The safety latch is bad and needs to be replaced. The pulley spins free. It is a little rusty. But it has been stored inside for the most part. The hook and pulley bearings seem to be fine. It has a quick release. for pulling electric cables that's almost a necessity. The pulley diameter across the center is 8" this should be about 3 tons. Let me know if you need more measurements.

Antique 2 Sheave Naval Block Pulley from Tall Ship NR
Details– Obtained from a former shipyard in Newfoundland. It is a very old 2 sheave naval pulley. Over 23” overall, pulleys 6” dia, with hook. Several older fishermen here informed me that this is the type used on the old 3& 4 masted schooners, Grand Bank Schooners and tall ships that sailed here around the turn of the century. I have no way to validate this but have seen several identical types on pictures of the old ships. I understand that they were used to hoist mainsails and spars and to load and unload cargo. Condition– Appears exactly as shown in photos. Some surface rusting evident but unit is in strong. Robust condition. It very old and heavy but a rare maritime collectable. This snatch block is a bit of a mystery for me. I couldn't find a name on it. But it looks like a very good quality piece of equipment. On one side it has SWL 5000, on the other it looks like it says 8 T, which makes me think it should an 8 ton, and by the size of it, but I can't be sure, so you may have to judge for yourself.
