This is a great piece of memorabilia to commemorate this industrial giant Roebling Wire. Roebling’s three sons. Washington, Ferdinand and Charles, built their father’s company into the world’s leading producer of wire rope, with four factories and nearly 8,000 employees at its peak, inspiring the motto: Trenton Makes, the World Takes. When competition pushed the Roeblings to start making their own steel, they bought farmland in 1904 and built the Kinkora Works and the adjacent“industrial village” for their workers. Roebling’s” was a family business, with a multi-generational ownership and workforce. These are the companies that made America what it is today. A lot of three. Formed heavy duty stainless steel rope thimbles. These were manufactured from 3/16" satin finished stainless steel stock. Individual weight is about 3/4 Lb. These are used, and were removed from service due to failure of the rope pendant they were a part of. A few nicks and scratches are apparent but there is no appreciable wear visible. These are NOT for wire rope or cable. These will not rust and are suitable for use in salt water. And harsh environments. This is a lot of three shipped in a flat rate box.
