The front axle turns and the yoke is solid with a pin style hitch. All of the side rail sockets are in good shape. The grain box is in fair shape but repairable. The tires are shot from years of storage in the farm grainery(stored since around 1970) If the tires were replaced and with some lubrication you would have a very functional wagon. Antique architectural salvage window well grate iron, hay rack, farm barn decor
Nice looking antique hay rack. Livestock feeder. Could also be used for a window well grate, very hard to find dome style inside corner. Awesome decorator piece for inside or out, great rustic industrial look. Good sized piece, heavy construction, looks to be at least 1/4" flat steel, and 5/8" bars. Standing up it is just over 31" tall, about 29" corner to corner, and would stick out just over 21" at the base from the inside corner. Up for bids is a Wooden Hay Kicker Wagon with steel supports. The bed is 16' long x 7' wide x 7' high. Has metal main beams on the gear. And metal pipe supports around the perimeter going into a steel underframe. Heavy steel pipes supporting the back rack. Front door swings down. Bed floor is slat boards, not rotten but not new. The running gear is in average condition, rusty but usable. The tongue has been extended at one point in a bit of a hokey fashion, but again it is usable. The tires are there, that's about all I can say. The left rear has a slow leak in it. I pulled this wagon home 40 miles with no problem so I know it is fairly solid. Offered for auction is a vintage hay elevator system also know as a rack lifter. This is a very unique elevator system in that it was manufactured with two wheels. Typically when you do find these vintage rack lifters they only have one wheel. This system was built in the late 1800s and was removed from a barn in Moline Michigan. The main beams are 10 inches tall by 15 inches wide and stretch 27 feet long. The center to center distance on the wheels is 19 feet. Vintage Rubber Tired Hay Rack
You are bidding on a vintage farm toy hay rack wagon. I have never seen a hay rack like this one. It is factory made. I cannot find any manufacturers mark. It is red so I am thinking it is IH. International Harvester. The bed of the rack measures 4 and 1/2 inches by 8 and 3/4 inches. With the tongue sticking forward it measures 10 and 3/4 inches. It stands approximately 2 inches tall. Kearney, Neb. A man driving a horse drawn hay rack on the wooden bridge over the South Platte River. This is an early Butcher postcard view as the negative number, 14, is on a small placard physically stuck between the boards of the bridge. Unused. Circa 1908. Light wear.
