Vintage AO Bausch &Lomb Ful Vue Safety Goggles Eye Glasses,Mesh Sides, steampunk
Here is a pair of AO American Optical(now Bausch and Lomb) safety glasses. The nose piece is marked Ful-Vue and 21. They are 4 5/8 inches from hinge to hinge. And the metal of the earpieces is about 6 inches long.The plastic of the earpieces curls down a little further than that. These old eyeglass frames are well made, with a double layer of metal at the nose. They are not magnetic, so may be nickel plated brass or a type of stainless steel. The glass prescription lenses are thick, beveled where they fit into the frames, and marked or etched with a small S near the top. The plastic coating over the earpieces has turned green over the years. This is shown in the photos. Bouton Steampunk Safety Googles- used These googles have a great Steampunk look- Made of rubber/vinyl& heavy gauge plastic- Their are 6 air vents on the googles- This pair of googles comes with 2 sets of glass lenses- One set is clear and the other set is green- The original set that came with the googles was the green set. Nice condition older safety glasses with mesh side shields. Marked on the earpiece AO7. The hinges for the earpieces are the type that are forward facing to allow more distance from the side shields. The clear glass lenses are in good shape. The nose piece could use a cleaning underneath but I will leave that to the buyer as I do not want to damage anything. Screens are in great shape. Up for auction is a lot of five pairs of vintage Ful Vue safety glasses with folding side guards. Glasses are in used condition with some signs of age and use. Including some bends and loose screws that could use some tightening. The glasses could also use a good cleaning, but lenses appear in overall good condition with no obvious scratches. One pair is in somewhat rougher condition than the others; this pair has an"S" marking at the top of each lens(see photos) Please message with any questions and please view my other great items! Two pair of vintage Bausch& Lomb safety glasses. These are a rare yellow frame color. The one set are used and bent and have scratches on the lenses. The other set appears new and unused. The glasses have the original boxes. They were coated with a white chalk. But I washed them and they came out very nice. A little more cleaning and the one set would be excellent. They have a series of patent dates embossed into the bridge of the glasses that read" Pat July 30 07. June 16 08, and March 2 09. This would suggest that they are early 1900's goggles. They are in good overall condition for their age.the rubber is still somewhat pliable, glass is intact and clear with no major scratches.
