from a dry Colorado non-smoking estate- good+/vg w/ NO issues/problems. No names/ID/writing Very Uncommon! Vintage 1950s[late 1940s? LL BEAN Cursive LABEL WELDED ALUMINUM FRAME HEAVY BROWN CANVAS BAG EXTERNAL FRAME BACKPACK w/ all metal hardware This is a very desirable classic external frame backpack from the earliest days of the post WWII USA interest in backpacking& the outdoors! the hand welded aluminum frame is 24" x 14" The frame has a'shelf' at the bottom as was often seen on earlier packboards. it has a very heavy duty leather w/ copper rivets reinforcement at the top of the suspension. it has 2 leather straps on the inside above the wide leather suspension reinforcement + it has 2 brass grommets coming through the bag above these leather straps- I think this was probably a place to attach a trumpline[see photo#5 ... moreabove] early LL Bean portage packs. Packboards etc. always had trumplines or a place to attach them] the shoulder straps are nylon w/ still supple padding inside. there's no hip belt- they hadn't arrived yet. the top loading bag is of densely woven brown heavy cotton canvas. It has 2 side pockets and a flattish pocket on the back center, the 3 zippers all aluminum pull& coil USA Talon. all the zips work perfectly. again, no problems, no issues, very usable if you wanted to use it. the canvas is solid w/ no rot, no weak places or abrasions ~~ This is a GREAT. But it looks like vintage 80's to us. It is a red& gold upholstery style fabric with gold trim, lace trim, sheer flowers and a tassel at the back. It measures approx. 12" L x 7 1/2" H x 2" W(at widest point, expands much further) It has a brassy metal colored shoulder chain strap that is removable, it gives it a 24 1/2" drop. The chain is removable with clasps, or tuck on the inside. This purse is in fantastic condition. It's like new. It has a metal handle and the clasp has rhinestones inset into it. The frame itself looks like plastic/lucite and is tortoise brown in color. The back part of the frame has metal flowers inlaid ... moreinto it, with a zippered pocket underneath. This was the first year Schwinn made this frame. Hence the Mystery Metal frame badge on the seat tube. Mystery Metal badge got caught on something so it looks like it got pryed from frame a bit. You can find new ones here on eBay. Also. One of the Homegrown stickers on the top tube is messed up. I have a replacement for it that will come with the frame. ICBM headset included. This frame does have a disc brake mount on it but it's the older Hayes configuration so you'll need an adapter to run modern disc brake systems. I'm the original owner. Bought this as a frame, built and rode it for maybe half a year and then got a single speed. Haven't owned ... morea geared off road bike since! Antique Victorian Tilting Vanity Mirror, Ornate Floral Metal Frame
This is a gorgeous old Victorian tilting mirror in a larger size. 19” tall, 12” wide. The frame on this is all flowers and Acanthus leaves with a large ornate foot. The metal has an aged patina and the back has an old time worn and stained cover. There are no chips or cracks to the mirror but it is starting to freckle and shows age. This displays beautifully and would be an asset to any Victorian room. The items that I sell are the items I love. Beautiful old desk with chair. In good vintage condition; the desk has some marks and the name Lynne in old style writing on it. The metal shows some rust. The wood connection at the back of the desk has slightly come undone as the wood seems to have moved a bit with age. However this does not affect the usability of the item and it is otherwise in good sturdy conditon. The lit of the desk can be moved to access the storage space underneath. Antique Tramp art Bird made with metal body with small glass chips over-lay. I am not positive of the exact composition of the bird's body. But feet and tail are metal with a brown material between the metal and the glass chip overlay. Body is very hard and solid on the outside. Bird measures 12 inches from beak to end of tail. Antique Blue Steamer Trunk - Wooden Frame with Metal Corners & Braces
This is a nice bright blue steamer trunk. With metal corners, hardware and strapping. I believe the walls, bottom and lid are made of thin plywood with an exterior lining of sheet metal.Measuring about 29½" x 14½" and about 10¼" tall, it has a single leather or faux leather carrying handle on the front, right beside the lock. The inside is lined with paper printed with a wood grain design. I don't know the age of it, but it looks mid twentieth century, doesn't it? I also don't see any sign of manufacturer identification, and no labels to tell where it traveled. It has some surface scuffs and scratches. Especially on the top and bottom, in fact there are some distinct pressure dents around the edge of the lid, as shown in the third picture below. The top opening of the bowl measures 4 1/4 inches in diameter. The framed basket with handle up is 6 inches tall. The framed basket has great detail of birds with tree branches and acorns. A rope rim around the photo area and rope style feet. It measures about 3 1/8" tall and 2 3/8" wide. The photo space is about 2 1/4" by 1 3/4" The metal of frame looks brass. It has original metal stand. The backing is tin type metal. The frame originally has four cut tabs to hold the backing, two of them missing, the remaining two still can hold the backing nicely. I believe the piece to be made from bronze and brass and it measures 17" long from the top of the bow to the very bottom underneath the middle candle holder and just a little over 11 1/2" across the center front outside edge. Also measuring just shy of 11 1/4" from the back inside edge where a mirror or picture would be held and 36 1/2" all the way around the circle frame. As seen it has 3 seperate candle holders highly decorated with ornate molded florals& leaves. Detailed raised trim beading and what looks like a hand hammered top bow& ribbons. On the back is missing a couple of metal brackets which hold the mirror or picture inside the frame. The piece looks solid& free any breaks with no signs of ... moreany repairs. This is a thick single bridge men's plastic frame from Swan Optical. The front and temples are plastic in black. The rest of the frame is metal. The size is 52/24. The frame is made Japan. The frame has never been worn or had lenses installed. They are new/old stock. They can be made to hold your prescription or sunglass lenses at any local optical store. where they can adjust them to fit as best possible. The measurements are hinge to hinge 5 3/8" End to end 5 7/8" Inside lens top to bottom 37mm. Frame top to bottom 1 3/4" Temple length 6" As with all vintage eyewear. They are sold as is.
