Vintage AO Bausch &Lomb Ful Vue Safety Goggles Eye Glasses,Mesh Sides, steampunk
Here is a pair of AO American Optical(now Bausch and Lomb) safety glasses. The nose piece is marked Ful-Vue and 21. They are 4 5/8 inches from hinge to hinge. And the metal of the earpieces is about 6 inches long.The plastic of the earpieces curls down a little further than that. These old eyeglass frames are well made, with a double layer of metal at the nose. They are not magnetic, so may be nickel plated brass or a type of stainless steel. The glass prescription lenses are thick, beveled where they fit into the frames, and marked or etched with a small S near the top. The plastic coating over the earpieces has turned green over the years. This is shown in the photos. I found these goggles in my attic. I've tried to research them but it seems that there are many variables as to what they were used for and how old they are. So I will give you the facts that I see. The eye pieces appear to be glass which is scratched. They are in a metal case that unscrews to be changed or cleaned. The vented sides appear to be metal. The hard part around the glass appears to be plastic. Coverglas is on the inside plastic part of each side, with the initials AO above. The nose piece is leather. The material that holds it on the head is a fabric and elastic. The goggles are dirty as I've tried to focus on in the photos. Please examine all photos as they're part of the description. You are bidding on one lot of one old pair of Fendall safety glasses. Their model T-30. These are pre-owned and presumably used but in very good usable condition. The lenses may be bifocal. There is not a separate lower lens but there is a squarish flat area on the bottom of each lens. I can’t tell if it is simple magnification or if they are prescription but they are not simple clear glass. They have an old style horn rim look and the lenses look slightly smoky. Or light gray. The lenses, temples, and side vents are all in good condition, with minor flaws/imperfections. Both temples are marked Ferndall T-30 Multi-Fit Temples.
