Vintage General Fireproofing Company Two Drawer Card File Woodgrain Metal USA
This is a vintage metal double index card file. It has the original top plate done in what looks like brass. It says" GF" with Wings and"The General Fireproofing Co. Youngstown. Ohio Made in U.S.A. It also has what looks like brass pulls. It measures overall 17" long not including the handles on the pulls, by 11" wide by 4 3/4" tall. The interior of the drawers is 5 1/4" wide by 15 1/4" long and 3 3/4" tall. Each drawer has a ratcheting card stop that can be adjusted to hold the cards up tight and straight. It is also coming with a set of"Weis No. 3255 Made in U.S.A. heavy cardstock complete Alphabet divider cards along with about 20 blank divider card and a set of partial set of"Smead's Pressboard Card Index Guide No. 511-12- Manufactured by The Smead Manufacturing Company Hastings, ... moreMinnestoa, U.S.A" month name cards. It is missing August. These cards are used and vintage and do have some yellow discoloration and a couple of corner bends and some smudges but still could be used. The file box is all metal and has a woodgrain finish overall except for the underside bottom and interior. This is painted sort of a primer red. It does have some scratches and I encourage you to look closely at the photos. It has a couple of bad scratches on the top and a few small ones on the other exposed sides and larger scratches on the bottom. ALSO all sides including the top have some of what I call"pox" marks, usually caused from being exposed to moisture, that appears as small white dots overall. I don't think these will come off. Vintage Green Metal Library card file box with brass handle pull and brass frame
You are looking at a Vintage green metal filing box with light gold painted trim along the outsides and front. Made by Hamilton Co. Fireproof Furniture in Ohio. I do not know what year but I do know it came from my great great aunts estate and she passed when she was 91 and that was over 30 years ago. It is 14 inches long and 5 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches wide. Heavy duty fireproof filing box. I would guess library cards or index cards or recipes. The owner had hundreds of vintage index cards dated from the early 1900's. And one of the drawers still has the dates marked. Selling a vintage Cole Steel single drawer index card file box cabinet. The Cole Steel Equipment Company was founded in New York City in 1933. They made strong high quality steel products. They supplied equipment to large manufacturers like General Motors and Western Electric as well as to smaller firms like schools. Medical offices, architects and accountants. In 1963 they were absorbed into another company. This dark grey metal file has a great industrial look. The box accommodates 3" x 5" index or file cards. It measures 16 inches long(not including the handle) by 6 and 11/16 inches wide by 5 and 3/16 inches tall. The Cole logo is at the front of the box. The handle has a slot for a label. You are bidding on a vintage 2-drawer index card file box cabinet. This grey metal file has a great industrial look. The box accommodates 3" x 5" index or file cards. It measures 16 and 3/16 inches long(not including the handles on the front) by 12 and 5/8 inches wide by 5.25 inches tall(including four circular feet on the bottom) Each handle has a sliding plastic protective label cover. Two small slots on the top and two small tabs on the bottom allow it to be stacked with other similar file drawers. Adjustable mechanisms inside the drawers hold index cards in place. I can't find a maker's name on the item. This box has some scratches on exterior surfaces. Some wear and rust along edges, and a rusted spot on the top where another file box has scraped the surface. Vintage solid metal file box - portable file card cabinet
Nice solid metal file box. No identifying marks or tags on it anywhere so not sure of the manufacturer. Outside dimensions are 13" long by 8 1/2" wide and 6" high. Top is hinged at the back and has 2 supports to lock it open. There is a locking adjustable sliding tab on the inside. Also made of metal. Inside dimensions are nearly the same as the outside, other than a slight lip around the top for the lid to nest in. No major damage to this piece. Minor surface scratches on all sides evidence of normal wear and tear. Slight little brown spots look like surface rust that could be rubbed off when cleaning. No dents, dings, or damage. Very nice Steelmaster index card cabinet. Stackable. Missing Key and somebody cut the lock off as pictured. Minor surface. Fits the 8x5 index cards. A little goof off and the front stickers will come right off. Measures 16 inches long by 9 1/2 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches tall. Still needs some cleaning. I just wiped it down with a damp cloth as you can see in pics some of the damp areas.

This is a beautiful vintage card catalog from Cole Steel in green metal. The perfect size for a desktop at 18.75" wide. 7.25" high and 16" wide, this great industrial vintage unit has two drawers that pull out with vintage aluminum handles(note that there's space for you to put your retro typewritten labels! There is some rust to the top(not a lot, zoom photos for detail) and general signs of use appropriate to a piece that dates from the 1950s, as this piece does. This is for a industrial green metal file drawer. This was party of a clean-out of old military items. This measures approx. 9 1/4" wide. 6 5/8" tall and 15 1/2" long, great for holding postcards and such. This does have paint loss as pictured. There is a paper liner in the drawer which does come out. Minimal rust. This is used but still has plently of life, no dents. I have more of these, and they originally where stacked. Look closely at the photos, they do differ as far as wear. UP FOR AUCTION M etal 2 drawer Cabinet I think it's called a card catalog. Not sure you can be the judge. It has two sliding dividers and the drawers work well. I'm not sure if it's a steelmaster it is not marked, but it may be missing, not sure. Both drawers have metal handles with a place to insert a label. The cabinet is in good used condition, it has many scratches on the top, some scratches on front and sides, may have a ding here or there, and on one side has a flaw a little rust spot and or oxidation, see pictures. The cabinet measures approx. 20 3/4" wide x 16 1/8" deep x 8 1/8" tall and weighs almost 17 pounds. The bottom has four holes on the edges. Not sure what they were for, see pictures.
