But I'm sure they would clean up with a little elbow grease. There are a few minor marks and scratches from from normal use. Measures 12 1/4" wide. 16" deep not including handles, 5" tall. The cabinet is constructed of quarter sawn oak and the individual drawers have oak fronts and(I think) maple bottoms/sides. The drawers are made with dovetailed construction. The previous owner put a removeable masonite bottom on almost all drawers which was more suitable than the metal slides for dividers for storing small items(see photos of a few different drawers. A couple of the drawers have adjustable dividers. Most are plain. All of the hardware is present with the exception of one drawer pull. The back is open but the drawers have stops and they will not push through. If the unit goes against a wall. A back would not be necessary. The ... morecabinet measures 53" tall X 33-1/2" wide X 18" deep. I'm told that the weight is over 300 lbs. This extraordinary piece comes from the Department of interior. The 72 drawers are fitted with multi-label solid brass hardware. The drawer fronts are solid maple with plastic card holders. The bottom two rows of drawers have canted fronts to make reading the contents easier when using the cabinet. There are some minor blemishes on the left side of the unit and only very minor signs of wear elsewhere which can easily be touched up. Selling a vintage Cole Steel single drawer index card file box cabinet. The Cole Steel Equipment Company was founded in New York City in 1933. They made strong high quality steel products. They supplied equipment to large manufacturers like General Motors and Western Electric as well as to smaller firms like schools. Medical offices, architects and accountants. In 1963 they were absorbed into another company. This dark grey metal file has a great industrial look. The box accommodates 3" x 5" index or file cards. It measures 16 inches long(not including the handle) by 6 and 11/16 inches wide by 5 and 3/16 inches tall. The Cole logo is at the front of the box. The handle has a slot for a label. Has the factory decal on outside front of metal cabinet that says Asco Art Steel Sales Corporatoon New York- Steelmaster. Measures 16" long x 6.5" wide x 5.5" tall outside diameters. Inside is for 3" x5" index cards abd have the tension bar intact securely to prevent cards from falling over inside. The bottom has 4 rubber bumpers to prevent desk top scratching or slipping. Vintage solid metal file box - portable file card cabinet
Nice solid metal file box. No identifying marks or tags on it anywhere so not sure of the manufacturer. Outside dimensions are 13" long by 8 1/2" wide and 6" high. Top is hinged at the back and has 2 supports to lock it open. There is a locking adjustable sliding tab on the inside. Also made of metal. Inside dimensions are nearly the same as the outside, other than a slight lip around the top for the lid to nest in. No major damage to this piece. Minor surface scratches on all sides evidence of normal wear and tear. Slight little brown spots look like surface rust that could be rubbed off when cleaning. No dents, dings, or damage. Vintage Oak WOOD LIBRARY POST FILE INDEX CARD LETTER tray cabinet
Oak box joinery on this desk top index card tray. Appears to be made of Oak. I found this in an old abandoned furniture factory in Wisconsin. I only wiped it down with a damp cloth to remove the saw dust. Could still use more thourogh cleaning. Has minor surface and age realated wear marks. Very minor. Feet pads on bottom are white. Measures 17 1/2 inches in length by 6 inches in width and 4 inches tall. the side rails are 1 3/4 tall. Inside is 5 inches wide. Probably a 5x3+ index card. Vintage Steelmaster INDEX CARD METAL STORAGE DRAWER CABINET. file library 8x5
Very nice Steelmaster index card cabinet. Stackable. Missing Key and somebody cut the lock off as pictured. Minor surface. Fits the 8x5 index cards. A little goof off and the front stickers will come right off. Measures 16 inches long by 9 1/2 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches tall. Still needs some cleaning. I just wiped it down with a damp cloth as you can see in pics some of the damp areas.
