Up for bid today is a Bombardier snow cat. This is an old machine that is no longer a good fit with our ski area since we've upgraded to multiple larger cats. It starts. Runs and drives and will have no problem loading& unloading itself from your trailer, but is in need of some mostly cosmetic love. A bit of Bondo and some paint would go a long ways on it. That said, it's powered by a gasoline Ford"Kent" industrial 1.3 liter engine, which is close enough to a pinto motor so you can still get parts for it. Due to problems with the original alternator it has been upgraded to a GM 1-wire alternator. The hydraulics that control the front plow up/down and left/right blade angle are fully functional, though the front gearbox cooler pump is bad and if you want to use it at high temps you may wish to replace it(since we never ... moreuse it during the summer or for long durations, we never bothered to) This has a 4 speed manual gearbox and a functional clutch. It is equipped with a Pintle hitch on the rear for pulling sleds or implements. Tires have been foam-filled. Track cleats have wear but are still runnable. Hour gauge is non-functional but has over 2000 hours. Though not pictured, a box of misc parts, seatbelts, hydraulic components and an additional original seat are all included with it. Muffler was replaced last winter season along with alternator, water pump, starter and temp gauge, and the carb was rebuilt and oil changed, though its probably in need of an oil change again soon. Snow cat is located in central Iowa. About 45 mins north of Des Moines. It will fit between the rails on a normal sized car trailer, and I'd estimate its weight around 1800-2000 lbs.
