Yard sale find! These are pretty nice- they show use but look well cared for. They come with little covers for the spikes that are held on with a velcro strap. I tried them on- the leg strap has thick padding and suede lining- very comfortable- the velcro is clean and works great! but I didn't go climb a tree) I can't find any problems or damage other than one of the leather foot straps is not the best. But still feels strong(I took photos of the bad spot from both sides) Lettering stamped on steel is; BUCKINGHAM MFG No 9403 1 BINGHAM. And on the leather/velcro/pad; MODEL 3502(R& L) As-found- would probably clean up better. But I'll leave that up to you. Up for sale is a used set of Bell System Burgess model 1-83 climbing spikes/spurs. I really don't know a whole lot about these. I bought them off of someone on ebay over 3 years ago with the intention of doing some climbing to clear some trees on my property. I have had an injury that has kept me from using them. I loaned them to a friend. And he stated that they worked fine for him. I'm not going to be using them any time soon, so it is time to sell. These are used. And seem to be in decent condition. The leather is in okay shape, there are some cracks and a lot of dust and a little bit of mold on them(can be easily wiped off) The buckles all look like they work okay. The padding seems thick, and there is some form of silver gunk on the inside of one of the pads(see photo, not sure if the previous owner patched them or something) ... moreIf you have any questions. Bow hunting, tree stands these do away with the tree steps, ladder steps, climbing sticks, rapid rails, climbing ladders, they all clang and make noise you wear these right to the stand and up you go perfect for hang on stands, and the best thing you can buy for the trophyline, trophy line tree saddle they are a must for them. I bought these brand new and paid nearly 300.oo for them and only tried them on never climbed with them at all bought them for hunting to get up to my many tree stands with out having to put up steps so thieves could not steel ... moremy stands. Also bought a Trophy line tree saddle to use them with. But an unfortunate accident that broke one of my legs and fractured the other left me not being able to climb so I am offering these up cheep. at a low starting price. I wish I could say they are new but being I camouflaged them with olive drab and tried them on I cant put them on ebay as new. But I will stand by my word to the buyer that when they get them they will see no signs of wear even the holes for the buckles are tight and no signs of wear on the leather all good padding and leather and rings and buckles are perfect. These are the long spiked ones for gripping into thick barked trees see pics. I dont know what else I can say for these but they are in perfect working order nothing to replace. All this gear has been tested and seems to function as it should. Not sure how old tis setup is. I have had it at least 10 years and think it could 15-20yrs I bought this equipment to do some arborist work in the mountains. However being this is safety equipment.
