LARGE LOT OF LATHE TURNING CUTTERS TOOL HOLDER STEADY REST?
This lot of cutters and tools came in a lot with my lathe. These are way too massive for my lathe, so I have no use for them. I am not sure what they are made of. There are 26 pieces, mostly cutters one large tool holder, a steady rest maybe? I put a scale/tape measure next to them to give a gauge on size, hopefully that helps. I do not know too much about this stuff, it is used, has rust and scratches, dirt and dust too. Hope some has a use for this stuff, since I have never used it, never will, and I do not have the space to keep it any longer, it is also for sale locally. It is similar in size to the 10EE steady rest that I had. So I would think it would fit a 13" South Bend. As you can see in the pictures, it is in excellent condition. Vintage South Bend 13" Lathe telescoping steady rest. Came off of an old lathe that had the one arm tumbler on the gearbox. I have a 13" lathe with a telescoping steady rest and this is a perfect match to it. The part number on the steady rest looks like T115T1. The brass is worn some and may need to be replaced soon. I decided to put a coat of machine gray paint on the steady rest. It still looked great the way it was just wanted to see what it would look like with a fresh coat of paint. Used South Bend 16"X54" metal lathe with tooling. Powered by 230v 3 phase. Acessories and tooling: 8" 3 Jaw chuck. 10" 4 Jaw chuck, lantern toolpost, steady rest, original thread dial, amd chip pan. The lathe has some dinges, scratches and minor dents. The ways look average, minor lip, with some scratches. The backlash is about 1/4 turn compound and 1/2 turn on crossfeed. The power feed and threading work fine. Lathe runs fine and all functions seem to work good. The belt cover, and the bolt tray are cracked. The tailstock lock handle has been brazed and it is missing a few oil cups. Spindle is threaded. The lathe has been repainted. It has a new drive belt. Here is a nice aluminum telescopic steady rest I don't know what brand it is for sure maybe leblond or logan but it will work on a 16" South bend Lathe it has an extra v way milled in it to line up on the south bend. I had this on my own lathe for a while and does work ok its not a great fit when you get inside the saddle area not enough clearance but does work.I have many south bend lathe parts and lathe tolling mostly for the larger south bend lathe if you need something please ask.This is being sold in as is condition shipping is for the US only unless other arrangements have been made if you have any questions please ask.

Offered here is a South Bend Steady Rest and Follow Rest that came from a 10" South Bend Lathe. I am failrly certain that these were from a Heavy 10 South bend. The ID# on the Steady Rest is SRD-100R. And the ID# on the follow rest is FLR 100K. These rests could use a light cleaning and maybe a little TLC, but they both look to be in good condition. Price has been reduced to sell, so someone should be able to make a good buy.

This steady rest is used and missing one of the brass 3/8 square inserts. Easily replaced with a 2 inch piece of brass 3/8 square stock. It has the locking plate for the bottom. But no I.D.however these came with gear wheels that appear to be Logan Neither have an I.D. however the steady rest has A C 291 on 1 side. The center if I'm measuring correctly is 5 9/16' from center to the bottom edge. There is some rust and pitting it is in very good working condition.The follower rest again doesn't have a makers mark, but there is a no. A53A1B. Logan,South Bend,Powermatic Lathe Steady Rest, ~7" Center Height for 14" lathe?
This is a big steady rest in fantastic condition. I took the original paint and surface rust off to discover that this looks like it's never been used! Not sure what lathe this fits. It looks like a Logan(I have an 11" But it's way too big for that! but has no Logan part number on it. It also looks like it could be a South Bend. Of course the bigger Logans were sold under the Powermatic name, and this fits either a 14" or larger lathe. I got it with my 11" lathe. But I have no use for it, so I restored it and am selling it. If the buyer prefers, I can paint it with Rustoleum primer and smoke grey color. That's what I did with my Logan and it looks fantastic. It's hard to find an original steady rest like this. It's easily 60 years old(most likely) There are no cracks. And no repairs on this steady rest. ... moreIt's ready to use as-is and comes with all hardware required, including the base clamp.
