Charles Bruning Company Variable Speed Transmission lathe mill metal working?
From an estate sale. A Charles Bruning Company"Variable Transmission" The guy had a bunch of machine tools, including several lathes, and some speciliazed boring and other machines for restoring old cars. I believe this transmission to be for use in machining tools somehow. It has a sprocket, and to pulleys, one with a v-belt pulley. The vbelt pulley turns 10 times for 1 sprocket rotation, the other pulley turns 8 times. I'm not sure whether the pulleys are intented to be powered, or the sprocket. If you turn the sprocket, only the flat pulley moves, until you grab it. Then the vbelt pulley turns instead. I'm not sure what the intended application is, and if someone could tell me, I'd love to know. Sprocket tooth spacing is about 13/32" slightly over 3/8" at the tips of the teeth. Great little machine for modelers or gunsmiths. Austrian precision is apparent throughout with the tight fittings and smooth action. Dual speed motors on both the lathe and drill press. There is one belt missing for the lathe and some scratches on the lathe and drill chucks where a plier was used to remove it. Overall very few scratches in the finish. Flatbelt Lineshaft Step Pulley,line,jack,shaft,Lathe,Mill,metal-wood steam drive
Hi. This is Don. This pulley fits a 1" dia shaft. Likely for a countershaft or jackshaft. The bore looks in good cond and measures very close to 1" at both ends. The large step is 9 1/2" dia, 2 1/4" wide, middle step is 7" dia, 2 1/8" wide, small step is 4 1/2" dia, 2 1/4 wide. I spun this on a broomstick and it appears to spin true. I don't get a good ring sound like I would expect from a single casting, but I'm not sure it is a single casting. I looked it over very close and cannot find any cracks, chips, or damage other than a few heavy scratches. The set screw turns free. It does have some light pitting in varying areas. 18+ lbs. 5.5" Lathe Mill Round Metal Work Holder 3 Slots 12 Holes
For auction is a 5.5" round work holder. Tool holder for lathe work. It has 12 holes, four bolt holes, and is marked to 90° on each side, in increments of 10. It has three slots, or grooves, for holding the work. Two are parallel and one is perpendicular to them. This is from an estate. It is very heavy, about 12 pounds, and will be shipped medium flat rate priority, at $12.35. The knurled pin unscrews. Some of the holes look like they have dirt in them, but can be cleaned? Smithy AT-300 Midas 1220 Metal Lathe Mill and Drill Machine extra chuck bits
Old Smithy or i was told it also called Midas Mill Drill and Lathe combo machine. Model should be AT-300. Same as 1220 Midas. Dont hold me to it, i just did my homework- do yours. It works. Although it is missing a switch knob, i used pliers just fine to turn it on. Here's the story i had it for a few years thinking i will learn how to use it. Never did. recently it was rebuild. Gaskets changes, oiled up. Again i thought I'd use it but failed to think of reason why? So it is for sale. It cost me quite a lot when i got it, and it is a quality machine, but i have no use for it. Comes with all you see. It needs the pulley put back on the motor(5 min job, it was removed so that the cover can be removed and cleaned) It probably needs the adjustments, whatever they might be, as to me- it spins, i have no clue what else to check, if you ... moreask i will. It has extra chuck teeth. Kind of reversed from what is installed, i have a bunch of blades that cut metal, but they have surface rust. Excuse the lingo, dont know what they called. It also cam make threads and some thread gears are installed under cover. Some extra included as well, see them in pictures. It is for local pick up only. So take a friend with you, it is VERY heavy. Even though you can take the top off, it doesn't make it easier. i wont be able to carry it out. I have the vise. But they are cheap and rusty too, so if you'd want them- free with the machine. Machinist Fly Cutter Shop Made Mill Machine Metal Lathe Bridgeport Unfinished ?
Old used fly cutter as shown in photos. Included is a 7/16" square brazed carbide tool bit as shown. Made of unhardened steel. For some unknown reason this fly mill was made with a.989" diameter shaft which may fit too loosely in a standard 1" holder. Hi. This is Don. This thing is rough. So I will sell and ship cheap. It appears to be a slide or compound from a metal working machine. It looks to have been repurposed in the past, and has various holes drilled and tapped. The base- smaller half, has had a relief ground in the center bottom. The lead screw is 2" but the hole is 3" deep. About 3" wide, 7" long. This had a drill vise on it when I obtained it. Questions are welcome. You can email or call 740 745 3334 anytime. I moved and brought with me. My metal machine shop(everything works and tight) and I don't need it any more. I going to initially offer a favorable package for all units. 1. Lathe: Cincinnati Metal Lathe. Three phase motor. Three jaw chuck. 2. Mill: Cincinnati vertical mill. Three phase motor. Three jaw radial chuck goes with it. 3. Drill Press: Robust. Big drill press. Please note: missing chuck(s) and the control arms that bring the chuck down(they are three threaded rods, but lost in move) Big Rock brand. 4. Metal Cutting Band saw: Rambo industrial metal band saw. Good thick blade. And rugged. 5. Hydraulic Press: Rambo 100.000 lb press. The bummer is that there are no tooling for the mill. Lathe. The chuck is missing from the drill press. In the move, my two large tooling cabinets, disappeared' in the move. I used to have a 4 jaw ... morechuck, and I think I saw it somewhere in one of the barns. If I can find it, clearly it goes with it along with anything else I uncover that is useful or goes with the aforementioned items. I had to store everything 6 months ago in a few barns, just to get it off the truck in a hurry. The only hiccup. Is that I have no means(forklift) whatsoever to load these onto a truck. There is a rental place relatively close, that rents lifts. This is a great start to a machine shop in one package.
