Nichols Horizontal Milling Machine w Model 70 Rusnok All 3 Phase I am not a machinist and have no formal training. The spindle taper is 40 MMS. The table measures 7" x 21" The coolant caps add another 4" The mill appears in good condition overall and was in running condition when last used in 2010. This a unique horizontal mill as the horizontal spindle travels about 4.5" vertically. Combined with the Rusnok to provide about 7" total vertical travel. Both motors are 3 phase. The Rusnok is plugged into the main power and just one cord is required. The 3 jointed lamp is wired separate for 110 volts. The mill appears to have been repainted. All mill parts appear original with the exception of the hand cranks. There is a 1" triangular chip on the interior of the table. There is surface rust but nothing bad. It is ... moremissing one hand crank. Item is untested but everything worked fine when usage stopped around 2010. Included with the mill but not shown are some table clamps. One longer 3/4" milling arbor, a 1" stub milling arbor, some bushings, only one nut, and the original horizontal overarm support. There is lots of good info on the UK Lathes site. Vintage Stark Horizontal Milling Machine No. 339 Mill
Vintage Stark Horizontal Milling Machine No. 339 I am not a machinist and have no formal training. The spindle takes 4S collets. The table measures 4" x 18" The motor is a 1/2 HP GE 1725 rpm and drives a Link Belt variable speed controller and a Reeves variable speed mounting unit to release the flat pulley belt and make easy speed changes(though not really needed with the Link Belt Unit) The Link Belt variable speed controller runs smooth and quiet but needs some fine tuning. As the extremes are difficult to achieve, likely due to lack of use. I opened it up and inside looks good. The mill is in good condition overall. The mill runs extremely quiet and smooth. There is lots of frosting as seen in the pics. There is little backlash given the age of the machine. Includes collet draw bar and 19(each)4S collets. Some Hardinge. Some ... morecollets show very little use. Spindle thread protector. Toolmaker made face plate. T bolts and nuts. Nice light weight but sturdy wood stand is included. Aluminum indicator holder(indicator shown not included) and aluminum TravaDial mount. The wrench shown in the second picture is also not included. Sorry. There is some pitting to the cone pulley. Cincinnati 307-14 Horizontal/Universal Milling Machine; Vertical Head-DRO-Vise
A local company had recently closed one of its research and development machine shops. The equipment that has not been transferred to one of their other divisions will be released for disposition and will be offered for sale. The sale is final so please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. Offered here is a Cincinnati#307-14 Horizontal Milling Machine. I was told that the machine was purchased new in 1969 and it does not appear to have ever been used in a production environment. It is equipped with a universal table. Vertical Head overarm, 3 Axis DRO, and Arbor Support. Also included is the original Cincinnati Vise. I had seen the machine under power and everything looked to be in nice operating order. It is located in southern New Jersey, zip 08081 and can be loaded onto a truck at no cost. Inspection is welcome by appointment.

Used Hardinge BB4 horizontal milling machine with indexing head. Takes 4C collets on mill and indexer. Mill is on the original cabinet. Motor has been changed to 110v utilizes the original drum switches for forward and reverse plus 2 speed. Includes 15 collets and both draw tubes. Backlash is 1/16 turn Y and 1/8 turn X table is nice. Hardinge Horizontal Milling Machine Rare Model TM UM
Hardinge Horizontal Milling machine. Excellent vintage metalworking machine. This particular machine was a model specifically commissioned by the United States Air Force during World War 2. It has a threaded spindle which allows a lathe chuck to be mounted making the machine a bit more versatile. Overall the machine is in good condition with the exception of one large divot in the table caused at some point when the machine must have had a vertical milling head attached. No vertical head is included. The original 240 volt 3 phase motor is installed. It turns smoothly and doesn't have any play in the shaft. I haven't been able to power the machine up so I don't know for certain that the motor is good. The bad news. The machine is not complete. It originally had a mechanical power feed on the cross slide. That has been removed along ... morewith the cross slide's lead screw which was extended to allow for the power feed. In order to make this machine functional a new lead screw will need to be tracked down or fabricated. They can be found readily enough on the various machinist's forums however. Also missing are the Overarm bar and the Overarm Support. There is no tooling except for a pair of 5C collets and a Drawbar shown in the picture. The drawbar is rusty but functional. The spindle of this machine is tapered and works with the 5C collets. The machine includes a very heavy duty rolling stand as seen in the last image. It moves easily about the shop floor. The machine is located in Carthage. Missouri. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange loading and transport of the machine. I will assist as much as possible but I do not have a truck, forklift, or any helpers available to move the machine from my shop to a freight depot. My shop floor is raised 2 feet and with the machine on wheels it would be simple enough for a couple of guys to roll this machine on to a trailer.
