I am not sure which lathe this was from, it was removed from storage just as it is shown in the pictures. To help determine if this steady rest will fit your lathe following are some basic dimensions. From the center of the bore straight down to the flat way measures 8-7/8" From the center of the Vee Way to the inside of the Flat Way measures 4-1/2" And center of the Vee to the outside of the flat measures 6-5/8" The opening bore in the casting measures 6-3/4" so I expect the maximum work diameter that this steady rest will accommodate is about 6" Please note that these measurements were taken with a tape measure, so they are close but probably not exact. Offered here is a Steady Rest that came from a LeBlond Engine Lathe. I was told that it was from a 15" model lathe. But I did not see the steady rest mounted on the lathe so I am not sure of this. To help determine if this will fit your lathe, following are some basic dimensions. The opening in the bore is 5" The distance from the center of the Vee way to the inside of the Flat way is approximately 8" and from the flat way straight up to the center of the bore measures approximately 8-1/8" The rest is used and looks to be in generally good condition.

Monarch Lathe 14 Telescoping Steady Rest 16-1/2" 14"c AA WAA
I believe this is off a Monarch 14 series lathe with an actual swing of 16-1/2" I'm not for sure. So look at pictures and ask any questions, as what you see is what you get. From center of V to the center of flat is about 6-1/4" Center hole is about 4-3/4" Telescoping pins are 1" From flat to break is about 8-1/8" 1 knob has slight resistance during part of the revolution. It can still be turned in and out with 2 fingers. Bolt that anchors it bed may need to be replaced. It had enough good treads to clamp it tight to my South Bend 16" Bottom clamp hold down thing appears to be modified or rewelded. 1 area by knobs appears to have been broke and rebrazed. You will need to make or buy new brass inserts. I will include old ones. But there not worth putting back on. Pins may need to be removed and ground. As ... morethe ends my be mushroomed and not sink all the way into the casting. Needs paint job. Many dings in knobs. Please look closely at all pictures to judge condition. I tried to describe the best I could but may have missed something. May split item in 2 pieces for shipping.

Hi. Here is a rather large steady rest, I believe for a Clausing lathe, certainly a 13" lathe, but I'm not exactly sure what other lathes the dimensions would allow it to be used with. It is in excellent working condition, and as you can see from the pictures, it's been used! All of the dial adjustments work fine, the fingers move freely. The soft tips are worn to shape which is to be expected. I do not see any casting numbers anywhere. Dimensions: Bottom Flat going up to Dead Center- 6 1/2" Right to Left. Steady Rest just removed from a South Bend Lathe Model G-26T Only includes what is pictured. We were hired by a local school district to sell this for them. It was recently removed from a lathe. It has many scratches. Paint loss, nicks and wear from use. All the points easily move in and out and the tips are showing wear. The center hole is 4 inches across and the bottom is 5 inches across. 2 1/8 inches wide and the groove is 1/2 of an inch deep. The center of the hole is 6 3/4 inches from the flat portion of the base. We tried to take pictures of the important features. Vintage Brown & Sharpe small diameter steady rest 152 lathe screw machine scarce
Up for auction is a very hard to find steady rest made by Brown& Sharpe. It is a small steady rest. The maximum diameter for workholding is 9/16' It is a quick action lever lock/ release. It is a dove tail mount steady rest. The measurements of the dove tail are: 2 1/2' wide at the bottom of the dove tail. It is 3' wide at the top of the dove tail. and the dove tail is 7/16' deep/tall. see pictures 6& 7) It is 4 1/2' to center from the top of the dove tail. It has a cam action lock on the base. The tool is in good working order. The locking lever works fine the cam lock is working fine. The One Main issue is one of the adjustment screws the one on top of the steady rest is broken off. see picture#5) Other wise it is a good used tool in need of a new home and ready to be put back to work. I have for auction these good used condition Sherline mini lathe parts. The chuck us 2 1/2' diameter It is a 4 jaws independent moving chuck. It is in good barely used condition. It is not marked any where. But I am 90% sure it is a Sherline or at least for a Sherline. The steady rest is Is also in very good barely used condition. It is marked 1074 on the bottom. The tool holders are in decent shape. There is evidence of user wear and tear. Also on one of the tooling holders. The previous owner altered the depth in one of the cutter slots. you can see it in the lase picture) The other part I am not sure of their name or function. Up for auction is a used lathe steady rest. Looks like its for a 16" swing lathe. Reason for selling I no longer have a lathe that this chuck will fit on.I do not know what brand it is. It did not fit my leblond 1610 heavy duty or my Monarch 1610. Steady rest is sold as is with no returns. From base to center is roughly 8" and roughly 6 3/4" from center of V to the beginning of the flat. This is a high quality steady rest that was modified to fit 10" atlas craftsman lathe. You can see it was a good job done welding and grinding on the outside. I tried it on a bed and it fits tight. Has about 2" capacity and a shop made lower clamp. If you don't like that. I am including an extra Atlas headstock clamp I had.
