Sherline CNC Lathe 4400B Package Used
This is a Sherline 4400 CNC Lathe. This unit operates on 2 axis only. I purchased this CNC in February of 2012. It has some wear marks on the metal and some dings on the top of the head stock(see Photo) The morse bit is relatively new and the tail stock that holds it has been modified as the original design gave out from being over tightened. It works very well but you can replace with original oem parts if you desire. The rail is in good shape and does show signs of being used. The machine was used. The motor brushes will need replacement sometime in the near future as they were wearing last time I checked. These are inexpensive and easy to replace.The existing are the originals. This unit has operated flawlessly with minimal major maintenance(tail stock and belts really) I clean and lube it after every use. I've added risers to the ... morehead stock and tail stock so you can fit a larger piece of stock in the chuck.These are original Sherline parts. This is also a 4 jaw chuck. I ordered it that way. Three jaw chucks are available from Sherline or even on ebay. The drive screw is in good condition and was cleaned after every use. I have spare parts. Including a cutting tool holder and steadier, as well as fuses for the mother board. The servos have never given me an ounce of problems. This is the longest of the Sherline lathes available. It can also be converted to a 4 axis milling center. As I've noted the condition is used but this machine has always performed great for me. This package comes complete with the spare parts shown.The computer stack,keyboard and mouse as well as the 20" flat screen monitor purchased a few months ago. Sherline 4000 lathe with milling column
This lathe is complete with all the parts shown including the milling column. I never used it as a lathe or mill. I used the head on another machine for a short time. The second picture shows screw marks in the cross slide. They were there when I bought it. The drive belt should be replaced. Other than that it is ready to run. I have added some more pictures to show the condition of the ways on the lathe and the mill column. Notice the mill column has a little brown rust. I don't think the previous owner used it much I never did. I installed the mill column on the lathe base and moved the spindle up to the mill column and put the vise on the cross slide to show how it mounts. This only takes a couple of minutes. In doing it I also found the key stock not previously shown for mounting the mill column and also the cutoff tool for the tool ... morepost which is included in the sale. There is a second 2-1/2" chuck that is in poor condition. But WHEN I find it I will send it along to the buyer. Please don't plan on it. I really have no idea where it is. I also added one photo of the machine I built that had this spindle mounted to it. I included that mounting plate with the Sherline since I no longer have one. You can see the piles of cast iron where it drilled 144 0.257" holes 5/8" deep!

Spindle threads are very clean. Motor works great, and the speed control works fine, but a little inconsistent at low speeds, which is typical of a rheostat speed control.
