Vintage GE Art Deco Razor Blade Sharpener- 1940’s Bakelite case with hinge in excellent shape. The silver design is actually some sort of metal applied to the bakelite& continues around the top to form the hinge- no separation. Interior mechanism in good shape with leather strips on the rollers in excellent condition. The rollers close automatically when the cover is closed. Looks like the blade would insert down over the posts& the switch turned on& when cover is closed all 4 sides of a double edge blade would be stropped at the same time as it is sandwiched between the leather clad rollers. Old Original Cast Iron Crosscut Saw Blade Sharpener Vise Clamp Mill Steam Engine
This is a real neat original cast iron clamp or vise to hold a saw blade for sharpening. It was commonly used for two man crosscut saws or ice saws but could also be used for other blades. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and everything on it works as it should. It has an ornate handle on the screw to clamp it to a bench or table top. The jaw measures about 9 inches long. It would be a fine addition to your early lumber mill antique display or your rustic home décor. The pictures tall the story. You'll like it. Good Luck.
