MILL DRILL SEARS CRAFTSMAN 109 ATLAS 6" TAIG SHERLINE AA DUNLAP LATHE & OTHERS
MILL/ DRILL For Sears Craftsman 109. 6" Atlas, or other similar size lathes. PLEASE NOTE: Auction is for the MILL/DRILL only and does not include the lathe. Motor or mill table. These units are scarce and this one is in excellent shape. Mill spindle is mounted in bearings that are"like new" with no slop whatsoever and turns smoothly. Quill also moves up and down smoothly but very firm. There is no return spring like on a drill press. The quill tension is adjusted with 2 nuts and a wave washer. You can adjust the tension from none to so hard you can hardly move the quill. The black knob on the right side of the head is a quill lock. And will lock the quill in any position from fully seated to about 2" down in depth. There is a depth stop on the left hand side of the head that uses a steel scale for depth adjustment that ... morehas both 1/32” and 1/64” scales. The entire Mill head will move up and down to adjust the height in relative position to the cross slide on the lathe. At the highest position(about 16" high) there is about 4.5" from the top of the cross slide to the bottom of the mill chuck. At the lowest position. The mill chuck will go all the way down to the lathe bed. You can see from the photos that a mill table bolts to the top of the 109 cross slide. Again. The mill table is not included in this auction. They are hard to find, so you will have to make something on your own if you can’t find one, or you can modify a mill vice to directly bolt to your cross slide. Also note that the Craftsman 109.21270 has a completely different cross slide system, so you are on your own if you have this lathe. Mill has a round flange at the bottom for bolting adjacent to your lathe. The mill chuck is BRAND NEW and mounts on the mill’s JT33 tapered spindle. The handle knob is not stock as the originals had round knobs as far as I know. The original motor was attached on a swing type mount on the left side of the head(you can still see the motor mount pin on the left) but I needed the motor for my

Sears Craftsman 109 Lathe, 6"x12", Motor and Countershaft, Full change gear set
You're looking at a 6"x12" Craftsman metal lathe with thread cutting capability. I used this lathe for a couple years before buying a larger replacement. The lathe is in overall good condition. With a few defects as is to be expected from a lathe of this age. I've also included a motor and countershaft assembly. Which is very useful for multiplying the number of speeds available. The motor is set up on a tilting mount for easy tensioning, and the countershaft is mounted on a slide for tensioning as well. Just bolt everything down to a bench and you're ready to start moving metal. The GE motor came with the lathe when I originally purchased it. But I used a treadmill motor to drive the lathe so I never used it. It does spin up under power, and produces torque when I grab it with my hand without making any horrible noises, ... morebut it's untested other than that. The countershaft assembly was used along with the lathe with no issues. A full threading change gear set(along with a few extras) is included as well. Tooth counts of the 14 gears are as follows: 64. 64, 56, 54, 52, 48, 46, 44, 40, 36, 32, 32, 24, 20. Mounting bushings and studs are included also, as shown. The four jaw chuck is in useable condition. But is showing its age. Some threads in the jaw adjustment are broken, but not enough to keep the chuck from holding the work. The jaws have also been ground to correct bellmouth from age/wear. If I were to replace one part of this lathe, it would be the chuck, but it's good enough to get some work done with(I used it extensively) A spare tailstock is included(shown loose in the pictures) It's got a broken and repaired alignment tab. Which led me to replace it with the one that's on the lathe currently. I've also made a new tailstock ram that's threaded 1/2"20 for a keyless drill chuck. The original ram is included as well, but it's a little beat up. There's also a face plate and hardened dead center for supporting work while taking heavier cuts. Since this

Sears 109 lathe. I believe it is 6" swing and I seem to remember it is from the 1940's but not absolutely sure of that. Do your research before bidding. I am selling it AS IS with no returns. I do not know much about these and pictures show all that is included(please note there is no chuck on the tail stock) The condition is very good considering the age. Nice old Craftsman 109 lathe. Works but I personally haven't machined any parts on it. This is practically a barn find. Having been stored away for years. It was bolted to a small bench, so the motor is now separate from the lathe and you'll need to mounting it in whatever fashion suits you best. Lathe turns free and smooth. All the adjustments move. The compound works but the chrome knob has a small crack as shown. Includes a bag of spare parts- change gears. Tool post, etc. The motor is an old GE 1/4hp cast iron unit. Craftsman 6" 109 20630. Good overall condition. I'm not an expert on these. A little dusty in the photos. But its been cleaned up since then. Could use a paint job, a good candidate for a restoration project. I know this works, have seen it run. Motor works but it could probably use a heavier cord and plug. Belt might also need to be replaced. Comes with what is shown- replacement jaws, some cutters and other accessories. Craftsman 109 metal lathe Lead Drive Screw
For sale is a Craftsman Model 109 Lathe drive lead screw. Its overall length is 31 inches. Looks like there is a 3/4" step at the end where the pulley goes. This diameter is.375" the main shaft is 1/2" diameter. This should work fine, it worked fine on the lathe it was on, should work with the step in the end of the shaft, or you can easily make a spacer to make the entire shaft the same length. This part is used and about 70 years old so expect them to have a couple signs of wear.

Vintage Craftsman/Dunlap 109 metal, machinist lathe
I think the pictures do a good job of describing the condition here. As you can see. It looks a bit rough, but everything seems to move and work properly. The headstock bearings feel worn out. So they'll need to be replaced. Comes with a face plate. Two dead centers and a pretty neat motor set up. It's not a normal counter shaft like I've seen with these lathes before, it's actually gear driven. The small gear on the motor. Drive the large gear which drives the step pulley. I don't know if that was home made, or if sears sold gear reductions like that at one time, but either way, it does the job! The motor is a 1/4hp Westinghouse. The auction does not include any type of tool holder. You'll have to find something for that separately. Local pick up is fine. If you want to save on the shipping.
