You are bidding on a vintage Fenwick SP784 spinning rod. I assume this is a custom built rod judging by the color of the wraps. This rod is in good condition with a few light scratches. The guides are secure and the wraps are tight. There is some fading of the color in the wraps as seen in the pictures. The cork and the reel seat are in good condition. There is no butt cap as seen in the pictures. The rod measures 6' 6" and has 6 guides plus the tip. The rod has medium to medium light action with a moderate tip and a parabolic bend. When the 1451 model was a mainstay in the Shakespeare fly fishing rod lineup. Cork handle is in excellent shape. All connecting joints(2) in excellent condition and work perfectly. Tip top and all of the line guides and material used to keep them in place are excellent. There is no reason to think the pole wouldn't fish as well now as it was able to when it was brand new. Shalespeare's composite poles from this era were mostly like this- straight fiber rods with spiral markings. They were less flexible than today's composite poles and not as light. One(1) used Wilson 6.1 Classic 95 headsize regular length(27" Grip size is 4 5/8 grip. I would say racket is in 7/10 condition. Bumper guard is in good shape. Racket has normal wear and scratches for a frame of this age. Black paint is scraped off in some places from normal wear as older frames were made this way. NO cracks and NO deep paint chips.
