This is one for the connoisseur of tickets. A very rare piece from what we would call a second tier fair. The Jamestown Exposition of 1907 was not"really" a world's fair, per se, but is considered one of the smaller of US expositions. We have some other outstanding tickets from this fair we're just scanning now, more that we purchased at both estate sales and auctions earlier in the year. This is Concession#36. A 5 Cent(yes, just a nickel) good for" ticket. The wording on the ticket is confusing. It reads, at the top, Firmin Michel(the concession holder) originator Hot Roast Beef Sandwich. And, below"Tea, Coffee, Milk or Pie" for a nickel, the value on the reverse. At a glance it appears that this is a nickel lunch, but it's merely promotional-stating that Michel'invented' the hot roast beef sandwich, ... morebut you don't get one with this ticket! What you get(make that past tense, more than a century ago! was-at his restaurant at the fair-Tea Coffee, Milk or Pie" as in your choice, for five cents. Any ticket from Jamestown is moderately to very scarce; this is the first from this concession we've ever seen. Tickets have been our forte-and habit!for 50 years. Beginning as kids at the Seattle World's Fair and then for decades with our collection from the WCE that we finally sold in 2008 so we could focus on SELLING the best tickets we find rather than keeping them. This 10' x 20' trailer has a good-sized griddle. A warming unit, two deep fryers with baskets, and plenty of floor space. Food storage includes two freezers, one half-size refrigerator, and a beverage refrigerator. You can't see it well, but there are two sets of cabinets: one below the sink and one between the beverage fridge and the deep fryers. There are hoods, but one is missing the fan/motor. The trailer itself takes a 2 5/16" ball. There are padlocks to secure the windows and door. The windows lock open so you won't have to worry about wind or anything. Also included are 2 empty propane tanks that came with the trailer. I decked this trailer out for my parents to get into the food truck and snow cone business but at their age it has proven to be just to much for them to handle. I installed a 5000 btu A/C with remote and a propane fired furnace that fires up off a thermostat on the wall for consistent temp control. There is a Bosch 4 gallon water heater under the sink. 40 gallon fresh water tank and 20 gallon waste tank. The front counter has a stainless steel handwash sink and 3 compartment stainless steel wash sink. The trailer is wired with a 100 amp 8 breaker box and has a transfer switch for 12 volt power for low voltage lights and trailer accessories. The 12 volt fuse block has 15 automotive type circuits to it. There are numerous 120 volt outlets through out the trailer. Maybe overkill but there is no need to run extension cords around the inside. There is a 4000 watt Champion generator mounted on the rear of the trailer. It can be removed if needed but I leave it in a sound deadening box that I built and run it out of. The generator remains in the box and frame that is attached to the frame of the trailer as it travels down the road. It can run off the generator all day in remote location or be plugged into land power if it is available. It is also wired with coax and power on the inside and outside to watch television
