I don't know what lathes this will or won't fit and it is sold as-is in that respect. So. please look at the photos and ask questions if in doubt. From what I am seeing at sites on the internet. This is a plain-nose model. Because the back is threaded. I assume it was made for a tapered spindle lathe of some sort. Inside the hole in back are two different sets of threads(see last photo) The previous owner had a Millport 1236 lathe. However this chuck was in a box and I did not take it off the lathe myself, so it may or may not have fit his lathe. The rubber is perfect: not worn or dry-rotted. The center disc turns smoothly. 7-1/2" Cushman 3 Jaw Chuck for 10" & 13" South Bend w/ 2-1/4" x 8 Spindle Nose
Offered here is a 7-1/2" diameter Cushman 3 Jaw Chuck. Model 3507. This chuck came from a home garage machine shop of a retired tool& die maker. The chuck is equipped with both sets of jaws(inside and outside) approximately 2" spindle bore, and the chuck wrench. As a result of sitting unused for a while the chuck could use a clean and polish. The jaws mounted in the picture are very nice and in my opinion look close to new. The outside jaws are nice as well but they have collected some grime and light surface rust so they should be polished. The back plate is an original South Bend, marked 10L-13L and has the standard 2-1/4" x 8 threaded mount. I was told that this chuck was used for a short time on a 13" South Bend Lathe which had a 2-1/4" x 8 spindle nose. It was then used on the 10" South Bend Heavy 10. ... moreIt should be suitable for use on other lathes which have the 2-1/4" x 8 spindle, such as Sheldon and Logan. L00 taper Spindle Nose Protector cover Lathe Rockwell
I sold the lathe that this went on so don't need it anymore. This item protects the taper and keyway if your doing between centers work or collet closer work. Not sure the manufacturer of this particular one. Has tapped holed in front. Maybe its an old chuck mounting plate that has been turned down. Either way what you see is what you get.
