Offered here is a 12" diameter 4 Jaw Independent Chuck that had been used on a 17" swing South Bend Turnado engine lathe. Stamped into the face of the chuck are the numbers: 4212 GJ-1/ 91 001 12 200A. The chuck has a D1-8 Cam Lock Mounting and a 3" bore through the center. The chuck wrench is included. Although this had been used on a South Bend Lathe. It would be suitable for use on other model lathes that accept D1-8 Cam Lock Tooling. The chuck could probably use a little clean and polish, and it should be ready to be put into service.

This is a nice L-W 4 jaw independent 12" lathe chuck. As you can see the jaws are in pretty good shape. It is a flat back or plain back chuck. The thru hole is 2-7/8" It has a few dings here and there. But is still a nice chuck. The jaws and mounting surface are in good shape. I do not have key for this chuck. Description: You are bidding on a Cushman 3-jaw chuck. Which is 12” in diameter and has a scrolling adjustment style. The chuck is stamped on the Cushman metal tag as“12 236B” perhaps indicating the model number. There is also a“Heald” stamp on the top of the chuck. Under which is stamped“W-1985” and a third stamp of“145” is on the top of the chuck as well. Please note: This chuck comes without a backing plate. And so the new owner will need to furnish this. Due to residential weight restrictions) see shipping details below] Here are some specifications: The chuck is ~12” in diameter· The chuck is ~3.725” thick· The jaws on the chuck are ~4.375” long. And ~1.675” thick· The through-hole of the chuck has a larger sort of“flange” opening on the bottom. Which is ... more~3.25” in diameter and which extends ~1” up into the through-hole. The remainder“upper section” of the through-hole is ~3” in diameter. The underside recess where the backing-plate mounts is ~6.975” in diameter. I don’t know too much about the device. And only recently acquired it, but I did test out the scrolling adjustment mechanism with the key, and the six-jaws moved in-and-out pretty smoothly. The chuck item appears to me as in good original condition, but I have not tested it on an actual lathe etc. Also please note: As I am no expert on this sort of industrial item. Please have someone properly trained in handling these types of chucks inspect the unit prior to usage to ensure safe operation, as appropriate for the particular application it is to be used for!
