It has 1 1/2-8 threaded mounting. There is approximately 5/8ths of an inch lengthof thread on the back side of it. There is a counter bore that has been bored in the unit. Aproximately 1.500" diameter. This is a nice original little cast chuck that has been machined. This is in good used condition. It appears to have very little use. It also has a small letter M with a 46 next to it on it. The chuck jaws as well as the chuck itself if numbered 1-4. This item is sold as-is. No returns or refunds once the item is purchased. Up for auction is a Skinner/Buck 5 inch( measures 5 1/4" 3 jaw. Independent jaw adjustment, lathe chuck. Stamping on face says made in New Britain, Conn, USA. It appears to be set up for a 1 1/4" mount. It appears to be 12 threads per inch. It does have the replaceable mount, so you could set it up for a different mount size, but I assume it would only work on a smaller lathe, like 6 to 8 inch? It is too small for my 9 inch lathe mount. I would assume that if your head takes a MT-2, it would work. It has two step jaws that would hold larger round objects, like big washers, 2/1/2" on first step, and about 3 1/8" on second step. The model number stamping is not perfect. I have read it as 394-45. It could have been 894-45. But I think it is 394-45. Chuck pass thru is about 7/8" A MT-2 will pass thru: A MT-3 will not. ... moreEverything appears to be in good shape. Jaws move in and out freely. But tight, no slop. Jaws will close tight together, like you can clamp a 1/16" drill bit in it. It would hold very small work. It takes a 7/16 square drive to adjust jaws, but I do not have the wrench. Probably incurred during storage. The chuck jaws show no signs of wear. Nor do the spindle mount threads. The chuck may be unused. Or has perhaps had very light use.

Horton 8" Independent 4 Jaw Lathe Chuck #150 For South Bend / Clausing
This is a Horton 8" 4 jaw lathe chuck. The backing plate bore is 1 1/2" x 10-TPI. This big chuck is in excellent condition. It has been cleaned and lubed and operates perfectly. The jaws are mint. The only minor flaw with this chuck is that the threads in the backing plate have a couple of tiny chips missing. But doesn't interfere with it's operation or function what so ever. I'm pretty sure that it fits Clausing lathes. This is a nice, big chuck for cheap money. Free insured shipping to the lower 48.
