Up for auction is a Union 3 jaw chuck made in New Britian. Conn. Its is a 7 1/2 inch diameter No 153. It was on a 13 inch South Bend lathe. It has the hard to find 1 7/8- 8 thread on the backplate. I cleaned it and oiled it but it just doesnt work. The jaws also have some damage. One has the first tooth broken off and the back tooth partially broken off. 4" 4 JAW LATHE CHUCK PLAIN BACK WITH 5/8" THREAD MOUNT
This is a used 4" 4 jaw Chuck It was pretty rusty I glass beaded and cleaned an it seems to work fine now put a little grease in and the jaws move nice. One of the screws is a little stripped but you can still put a key in and does tighten.Maybe you could find or make a screw for it not that hard. It is a plain back chuck with a 5/8 threaded hole on it but you could make your own plate to fit your lathe. it does have some pitting from rust all around the body(SEE PHOTO) but it dont effect anything just cosmetic. I don't know the manufacture, cant see any markings other then a few light numbers. Starting at.99 cents good luck!
