Up for sale is a speedy moisture checking device. I think its used to test soil. It comes as pictured. I don't know how its used so its sold as is. It comes in a heavy duty plastic case with pressure relief valve. In the case is one aluminum bodied speedy tester with moisture gauge, one canister of reagent about half full, one metal scooper, and a bottle brush of some sort. It looks like its missing the digital scale and maybe something else. Once again, I dont know much about this thing, so please ask any questions you may have before purchasing as my sales are final. This item is in good cosmetic condition with some minor wear including scuff marks and scratches. The function buttons and connections are in good condition. The front pane of glass does have a piece and this item will need to be replaced for the item to be fully functional. Please refer to the photos below for more details on the item. This item was plugged in and powered on. We turned the main unit on and the lights turned on as well as the heater. We then turned on the secondary switch and the fan started working. We were able to use all the function buttons properly. We were able to turn the sample rotator dial and the large sample holder rotated properly. We are selling a Thomas Ashworth Speedy Moisture Tester. This is the larger. More accurate size(It sells now as the 2000L) It uses a sample size of 20 grams and the scale is calibrated to balance at that weight. You can measure the moisture content of soil, cement, vegetable matter like straw, grass, grain, and many other items. It is typically used by civil engineering firms and agriculturalists. The principle of use is that calcium carbide added to water forms a gas and by measuring the pressure inside the vessel after mixing the sample with the reagent we can know how much water reacted. This unit has a pressure gauge that reads from 0% to 20% miosture but Ashworth can supply a gauge for just about any range you specify. The balance and the chamber are a matched set and are stamped with the same serial number.
