Up for sale is this used Vintage Davis Instruments Corp Sextant Mark 25 Beam Converger with case. This is an estate sale find. I am not familiar with the operation of this instrument. The instruction manual is marked 1983. Included is a case with foam padding. A plastic sextant, two grey tubes and instructions. The case carry is functional and not cracked. It does have blotchy faded plastic and a peeling sticker. I inspected the sextants battery compartment and found no exploded batteries or heavy corrosion. The Led light does operate when the black button is depressed. The incremental Mic dial works as well as the release lever. I did find a small chip out of the edge of the large mirror. I'm selling off a Vintage Protune Corp Electric Tuner model M440. This tuner shows wear. Has some residue from velcro from a previous life and WILL NOT TURN ON. I can’t seem to find any information about this model online either so I’m sure what kind of power supply is required to power it up. I opened it up and everything seems to be there with no loose or disconnected wires. It seems to have type of battery pack in it. I know their newer model is marketed for tuning timpani drums and sells for close to $200 dollars so this might be a great buy for someone with the proper knowledge. But the coatings on the glass surfaces render the transmission a strong amber color. The optic must have a virtual focus- it is impossible to image an object by using it as a'magnifier' The only identification I could find on the system was'Optical Instruments Corp' The mount is threaded for helical focus. But does not include the mating flange. There is a shallow groove in the front lens cell that was used to secure another assembly(there are small marks left by hollow-point set screws) front lens diameter- mm rear lens diameter- mm Helical thread diameter/ pitch- xx Overall mount length- mm Diameter/ length of front cell- mm Diameter ... moreof mounting flange- mm Condition of the system is good. There are a few bits of dust within the optical assembly. I have not opened the cells to clean the internal surfaces. The knurled ring for focus adjustment has been painted a flat black.
