Large Vintage glossy Napco dappled grey rearing horse.I bought him 30 years ago along with a pinto horse I still own from a lady in her 40's who said she had owned him for a very.Very long time.I really hate to sell him but have enjoyed his beauty for 30 yrs,and with the vast collection I have(and limited room) I thought some other horse lover may enjoy him for many more years He stands 9" high x 8" long from tail end to outer hoof.His front legs are 2 3/4" wide.Rear legs are 3 1/2" wide apart.Pretty sure he's porcelain instead of ceramic due to his hefty weight.He feels solid filled and not hollow.His mouth is slightly open.He is Stamped on the bottom with"S5A1"the second digit is questionable due to part of it being worn& hard to make out) He also has a small engraved area on the base that is either ... moreengraved with initials or a date,it's glazed over& hard to tell.He has the typical striped hooves as seen on older Napco horses.I've only seen one or two of these rearing ones but they were done in a Bay color which was Matte and not glossy.He has never had any touch ups done to paint. He does have two absolute clean leg breaks on each front leg just below the knee area.VERY hard to see.Extremely well repair job.No missing chips.Close ups provided.I've never had to reglue them in the 30 years that I've owned him.He also has a slight rocking motion when placed on a flat surface,his base is not flush,so for 30 years I kept him in the back of my glass cabinet against the back of the cabinet to prevent tipping.You could also easily put a"Shim" under the bottom to prevent rocking. He is heavy and weighs 11.2 ounces by himself.He is an absolute beauty and quite a rare glossy dappled grey color.Besides the flaws noted.He is in excellent condition for his age.No color fading either.Please view all photos of him.I provided shots of every angle with close ups of flaws which were always of minor difference to me. I was all set to state that the planter was in excellent condition except for some crazing on the bottom when I noticed what I think is a hairline crack on the back of it. Vintage NAPCO Figurine featuring a boy and girl standing together with groceries. The name of the figurine is called"Low Budget" NAPCO is abn acronymn that stands for the National Potteries Company. They were known for their"Hummel" reproductions of which this figurine is a part of that series. The markings on the bottom indicate that it is a part of the AH1G series. The figurine was broken a long time ago. The tip of the cigar that the girl is holding was broken off and re-glued. The close up picture shows the details of the break. There boots are green with gold balls on the toes. Two have the Napco labels and all are stamped, X-7590. The standing boy is 2 3/8 inches, sitting girl is 2 1/2 and boy on stomach is at 2 inches.
