This Bird Electronic Corporation model 48 type R RF Watt meter is used. This an unusual meter in that it does not have a data plate. it is also not a Thruline type of meter. As can be seen in the photograph it's impedance is 51.5 Ohms at 5kW across a frequency band of 44 to 216 MC. The movement is made by the Hickok Electrical Instrument Company having full scale deflection at 100 microamps. This meter monitored a line section in our old RCA tv backup transmitter. The meter has been tested and is fully functional.

There is light surface rust on the unit since these early units had very thin paint but with a little steel wool cleaning and some good Grey enamel paint. This unit could be made to look very nice.
