Both these units power up and display well. The background illumination on the vectorscope is a little dimmer than the waveform. But both guns have great intensity. The plastic ring on the calibration knob of the vector cracked off a long time ago. Only other noticable issue is that the Vector seems stuck in a"Spinning display" mode(as seen in the picture) This auction includes all power cords and the dual metal rack enclosure that holds both units. For bid one(1) Potomac Instruments. Inc. FIM 21, Field Intensity Meter made in Silver Spring, Maryland. Calibration date on the Field Strength meter is 21 August 1972. It tunes in stations clearly across the frequency band. Turning the instrument does cause the station to fad or intensify. The lid section with the antenna has been dented along one side of the bottom edge and one corner is a little flat. The lid still closes pretty good. There are some scuffs and scrapes but looks to be in pretty good condition. Two of the screws for the station window are not on the window. I have the 2 screws. The battery compartment is corrosion free but the foam has deteriorated and I used paper towels to hold the batteries in place, which seems to work fine. See the pictures. Stations come in clear. When I took it apart I found that the batteries had been left in it and had leaked. I spent several hours cleaning off the chassis with a soft Brass brush. Soft paint brush and contact cleaner, only one of the battery contacts was involved with the leakage and the actual contact was clean. I removed the vast majority of the"stuff" from the chassis and everything is now in good shape. I tried the FM section and received our local station and a couple of other stations using just a two inch piece of wire and myself as an antenna. I'm sure that it will work fine with a real antenna connected. I didn't try the VHF or UHF sections because this is an analog device. The dial cord seems ... morein good shape but could use a little tightening because the dial slips slightly as you turn the tuning knob. The outside steel case and cover has no dents but is scratched up from normal use. I downloaded a complete instruction manual for it and will send it with it. Like everything Sencore makes it is a great rugged piece of machinery. Everything is over engineered and well designed.
