RARE VINTAGE F.T.D. FLORIST CHROME DOOR ADVERTISEMENT SIGN
This is a R are/ H ard to F ind Vintage F.T.D. Florist Door Advertisement Sign. This Vintage F.T.D. Sign is Chrome plated Brass that reads: AUTHORIZED FLORIST. TELEGRAPH DELIVERY SHOP FLOWERS BY WIRE" It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches in diameter and weighs 2 1/2 pounds. There are 3 bolts on the back for mounting( a wire has been added so that it can also be hung on the wall) This is a wonderful example of Vintage Advertisement it could use a thorough cleaning. We like to leave the cleaning process up to the discretion of the buyer as each Collector has their own method of care. The F.T.D. Sign is in well used condition, however; there are some places where the chrome is worn off and other areas where it is flaking. FTD Florist Light Up Store Display Window Advertising Flower Sign Vintage & Rare
The item I have up for auction is a vintage FTD Florist light up store/window display sign in good working condition. Although it is in working condition-It has some cosmetic wear that would benefit from a restoration. I believe this sign was displayed in a FTD store either on a shelf or window& looks to be advertising funeral flower arrangements. This 9 pane display sign features removable flower"photo transparencies" that slide into the original panes& each has a clear plastic dust cover. It has the FTD"badge" on top that lights up when the sign is turned on. This display has a on/off switch& the front cover is removable to access the inside. According to the sticker on the back; it was designed/manufactured by Lakeside plastics. The housing is metal& the front display is plastic in a metal frame. This ... moresign measures approx. 10" H x 20.5" W x 5.25" D& weighs approx. 6 lbs. on it's own before being packaged for shipping. I am unsure of the age this item-but looks to be from the 70's-maybe early 80's.
