4 Vintage Josef Hoffmann Fledermaus cafe chairs
Four vintage Fledermaus chairs. An iconic early 20th century design by Josef Hoffmann(1870-1956) for the Café Fledermaus in Vienna, Austria in 1919. Made by the famous Thonet furniture company. 29 3/8" high x 17 ¾" deep x 16 ¼" w. Seat height 19" These are authentic Thonet chairs(not reproductions) which were made post 1948 as the style became popular again in the 1950's. These chairs VERY RARELY COME UP FOR SALE. We could only find 6 chairs sold at auction, and 2 chairs sold through a vintage furniture dealer in Boston on the internet sold in the last ten years. You are bidding on a used SICO Portable OAK Floor with cart. Included are 21 squares each 3 feet by 3 feet or nine square feet giving a total of 189 square feet of flooring. Also included are 20 3-foot gold colored aluminum edging and a cart for storing the floor. The edging is not enough to completely go around the floor so additional pieces might be required. I used this as a dance floor at our summer parties. It worked out great but we are done with this part of our lives so must sell. It is in good shape and can be used directly. Used SICO Portable Oak Parquet Floor with Cart Included are 19 squares each 3 feet by 3 feet or nine square feet giving a total of 171 square feet of flooring. Also included is the heavy-duty cart for easy transport and storage(the cart alone sells for over $500 new) The floor shows multiple scuffs. Scratches, and wear but it’s a high quality floor with lots of life left in it. May be set up in multiple configurations. The“industry standard” for portable flooring. Check out the specs and further info here- A comparable floor would cost a few grand new. Buy this floor for about cost of renting! This floor came out of the Chicago Hyatt Regency. It is well used but also decently maintained. It is functional as is but would be beautiful refinished. The aluminum edges may require a bit of hammering/re-bending in places(see pix) A couple screws ... moremay be missing(it’s hard to tell) but are easily replaced. No trim strips included. If desired. I believe they may be purchased from the manufacturer or distributors. The floor is the original screw-lock design. It can be assembled or taken down by one person in minutes using only an Allen wrench. Notes on the photos: My camera seems to have added a curved look to many of the photos. The panels are straight and flat except for the dings shown in the close-ups. Check out the pic of the label for an example of this curve effect. I’ve included shots of three different panels to give you an idea of the overall condition. I’ve also done a few close-up shots to show the wear to the edges. One pic shows a repair where a piece of parquet was missing. The floor is heavy(each panel is about 40 lbs) so this is listed as local pickup only. Please ask questions. Description Great Vintage Brass Top Pub Table Heavy nice quality vintage brass top table which I would describe as a pub table. Not sure of age but has some age to it. Certainly not modern. Nice brass top, needs some brasso and a good buff up as it does have some marks to it, I'm not sure if they will all come out but adds to it's look. Nice construction and would make a great lamp or side table if you don't want it for a home bar or similar. Measures approximately 61cm high and the top is 55cm wide.
