This is a well made dance floor that this consignor made himself because he wanted to have a floor he could practice tap dancing. There are two 4 by 8 sections to it and they are mounted on a metal frame for sturdiness. 3/4" plywood on the frame and 3/4 inch oak tongue and grove flooring on top of that. $500 in materials alone. Antique oil painting of Berwindvale may well have been commissioned by a Sea Captain in the First World War. The Berwindvale information can be found on the net and after quite a lot of research I did manage to find out the following. the Berwindvale was launched(1911? for J Esplen of Liverpool for charter in the coal carrying trade between American ports and Cuba. She was a large collier for her day and. With machinery aft, an unusual one. She was fitted with a new design of hatch cover which could be raised and lowered in 90*seconds and needed no tarpaulins. Her tonnages were 2,706 nrt, 5,242 grt, 8,650 dwt. Giving ratios of grt:nrt = 1.94 and dwt:nrt = 3.2, the latter being one of the highest ratios ever achieved, she could take on 2,900 tons of water ballast of which 1,130 tons was carried in the topside tanks… A very advanced ship for ... moreher time. Engines aft and apparently wing ballast. I found the entry below on the net, it says she was sold and renamed Ingeren. She also survived being torpedoed in WW1 in 1916. Built by Dixon Raylton. Middlesbrough, England, 1911. 5242 gross tons; 405(bp) feet long; 54 feet wide. Steam triple expansion engine, single screw. Service speed 9.5 knots. Built for British owners. I'm closing my boutique in Chicago and have to part with this spectacular piece. I don't know its provenance but I can picture it in Marshall Field's 60 years ago as a checkout counter. This listing is for the above shown restaurant/ cafeteria style trash bin enclosure. It holds a pretty large can. And has easy roll casters on the bottom. Each unit has a large trash"hole" on top for dumping, as welll as a small shelf above to accumulate empty small trays or baskets etc. The units have a soft blond wood look, but it appears to be a veneer. The hinges work well on each unit, nothing sticking when we tested them. Items are used, and show signs as such. They have a few scrapes and scuffs here and there, but are in overall good shape. I decided to package these pins as I know they were used together in a candy store. I am just not sure what the exact purpose of each pin was. Both pins were used in a candy shop in the late 50’s or early 60’s. I did not attempt to clean the pins or polish. The Chase Red Brass pin has the factory Centaur Horse logo on the handle. The pin measures approximately 25 inches long(handle to handle) and is approximately 3 inches in diameter. It weighs approximately 21 pounds without shipping material. It does have areas of corrosion and the brass is tarnished. But I believe it should clean up well or left alone depending on the prospective buyers taste. The second cutting ... morepin as I will call it has twelve cutting type wheels, spaced approximately ¾: inches apart. The overall length is approximately 23 inches long. I can not find any identification marks on this pin and it does have areas of corrosion. This pin weighs approximately 11 pounds without shipping material.
