1926 National Association Postmasters of US Kansas City MO Convention Name Badge
Designed to look like a canceled letter. This name badge was my Great Uncles. He worked for the US Postal Service until his retirement in the 1960's. He served in the Army during WWII in Italy and North Africa routing mail to the troops. It measures 2 1/4" long. 1 3/8" high. The pin is still in working condition and not torn through the backing. There is some corrosion or something has been spilled on the lower right of the back as you can see in the picture. I did not attempt to remove it. There is also a 1/2" spilt along the bottom seam begining at the lower left corner but it isn't visible and will display nicely. I would estimate its build date at 1959-1960. It is 5.5"x14" with original silver sealer interior& no tag. It has a very small tag taped inside with the original owners information typed on it. I left it on as part of its original history/ provenance. However you could easily remove it. This snare has all its original parts with exception of heads. Super-Sensative throw-off& wires. The bearing edges are original& true. The shell is drilled for a Ludwig P-83 throw off. In addition to the original holes for the Super-Sensative which means it has 2 extra holes. If you look at the pic, the Ludwig strainer holes are the ones on the top& bottom& the three holes in the center are for the Super-Sensitve.
